The DC Chapter started gathering at 3:30, unloading flags, banners, signs and a sound system. We expected Westboro Baptist Church to arrive at 4:30 but they arrived at 4. We responded by setting up quicker.
DC Chapter members were Lurker Bill, Cindy_True_Supporter, GunsAreOK, RongKirby, [Mrs] Trooprally and myself. We were joined by a mother and her two kids who were walking by, 5 other patriots who heard about our rally, 3 Marine wives from Quantico, a guy in a wheel chair, and 6 Vietnam Vets on their Harleys. They did not claim to be part of Rolling Thunder or Patriot guard Riders, just Vietnam Vets.
The WBC one branch family tree morons had a boot load of misfits. They were all in town for Wednesdays Supreme Court hearing. They have a lot to lose so they came out in force. They received the normal reaction from passer-bys, disgusted looks, one finger salutes and a lot of verbal harassment from our Vietnam Vets.
BELOW LEFT: Vietnam Vets being swarmed by reporters (8-10) when they first arrived and revved up their bikes. The reporters were like kids in a candy store, taking pictures from different angles, shooting WBC from between two bikes, putting their mics up to the rear of the bikes to get a louder sound. BELOW LEFT: Calmer picture of Vets after reporters had their fill. Even as the Vets were dismounting, you can see some late comer reporters crossing the street.
BELOW LEFT: Lurker Bill, Mom and her kids (passer-bys that joined us). BELOW RIGHT: Mom & daughter, GunsAreOK, Marine Vet and guy I have seen at the Tea Parties. The sign above him swivels to another sign on the reverse side.
BELOW LEFT: Cindy_True_Supporter talking to Vietnam Vet. BELOW RIGHT: RongKirby and Walter Reed MOAB
BELOW: Marine wives.

Nice to know someone who also plans to go there “in our time”. I am in no hurry, but enjoy the entire area each time I visit. It is peaceful, but not at all sad. Each time I go to visit I gain a stronger feeling of patriotism.
I spent time there on 8-27 and then the night on the Mall. I went back after the 8-28 Glenn Beck rally. I had a lot to think about and that was a quiet place to do it.
I think of my husband there as when he was happiest, visiting with the men at the American Legion or VFW Post.
Kudos to the members of the DC Chapter who stood tall against the westboro vermin.
Thanks to the VietNam biker Veterans, the Marine moms and others who joined you late in the afternoon outside of Arlington.
Speaking for the the DC Chapter, you are both welcome.
And I would like to join in with you in thanking the PGR and loyal Americans for helping.
