I am told by a reliable source that the DCCC has canceled one weeks worth of ad purchases aimed at Texass 17th congressional district.
Good night, Chet, as in Chet Edwards.

Let’s hope so. The Tsunami is building.
This is an R+20 district. In a year like this, I would imagine the answer is yes.
Hasn’t he been in that seat for a while?
McCain got 67% of the vote in TX-17. So it’s time Edwards took a forced retirement.
He is way too liberal for that district. It will be nice to see him go.
Chet baby is burnt toast.
YUP. Apparently he has fooled people into thinking he is a “conservative democrat”
Real Clear Politics shows this as “leaning GOP”

I think that the ‘Rat Party is writing this race off.
Apparently he was redrawn into this district a couple years ago but has been in Congress since 1990.
A poll came about about 2 weeks ago that had Edwards down almost 20%.
This source also says the DCCC has canceled a weeks worth of scheduled ads in Terre Haute and Evansville, Indiana, which were aimed at Indianas 8th and 9th congressional districts. These are the district of incumbent Democrat Baron Hill and the open-seat race in the district previously represented by Brad Ellsworth.
If you look at the real clear polling information, it shows 117 Democrats seats in play. Now you can see why Dick Morris feels we can win 100 seats.
Edwards was that rare animal, a conservative Democrat and that’s how he’s held on to his seat all these years as the district became more conservative. But this is like a 40-year flood for Republicans and it looks like it may sweep out a lot of the scum that normally aren’t vulnerable.
I’m surprised they supported Edwards for so long. He has been trailing badly since the primary a few months ago. I guess they felt they owed him some loyalty, but they just wasted their money.
That’s interesting news about IN-08 and 09. The GOP is looking good all across the midwest. Even in IL, there are several seats which the GOP could take back.
Chet’s district includes Waco, but comes up to the southern Dallas area so the Dallas radio market can reach into TX-17. I’ve heard lots of radio ads for his Republican opponent, Flores, on Dallas talk stations, but apparently Edwards isn’t advertising on those stations.
McCain recently did an add for Flores about veteran’s issues. Apparently Edwards was saying Flores was bad for veterans or something.
Now if we could only get rid of Sheila Jackson Lee. Understand she is beginning a campaign to head up the Black Caucus.
Lots of folks working hard on behalf of Faulk. Don’t know that he can beat her but he is the most formidable candidate for a long time.
The North Texas version of Sheila Jackson Lee -- Eddie Bernice Johnson in the 30th -- may be in trouble.
The scholarships she diverted to relatives caught up with her in a modest little corruption scandal...which she didn't handle well. The Dallas Morning News has actually endorsed her opponent -- a first.
Plus, Pastor Stephen Broder appears to be not only a solid conservative, but an effective campaigner. He's having an impact in the 30th.
I'd say unseating Eddie Bernice is unlikely but, for once, it's possible...
He talks Texan here but was just getting wet thinking about being Obama's running mate and was always a go to vote if needed 90+% for the democrat agenda.
