Video and photos taken today after the One Nation Working Together Rally concluded show that participants left significant amounts of trash at memorials in our nation's capital dedicated to fallen American servicemen.
The World War II Memorial on the National Mall, which is opposite the Lincoln Memorial where the rally was held this afternoon, had food trash and rally signs all around the granite seating along the perimeter of the Pacific side of the memorial. Colorful signs bearing the logo of rally co-sponsor SEIU are prevalant. Among the signs and water bottles strewn about is what looks like an uneaten Twinkie carelessly dropped at the edge of a fountain commemorating the hard-fought victory in the Pacific theater.
A man wearing what appears to be an SEIU t-shirt is seen sitting near the discarded signs.

Hostagehoosier also posted a video of trash left at the Lincoln Memorial here.
Memorial Bridge, which crosses the Potomac River between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery, was littered with identical cardboard lunch boxes. The boxed lunches were given free of charge to union and NAACP members, along with free t-shirts, free Metro fare cards and free bus rides from across the country to the rally.Freeper Stratman1969 posted several photographs at his Marooned in Marin blog that shows the trash left on Memorial Bridge.
The trash was most likely left by these people as they headed across Memorial Bridge to the rally:
Free lunches, you can bet!!’
Probably somehow paid for with Tax dollars.
I am sure that is exactly what they are. Free lunch, free bus, and probably a bit of spending money...
And knowing the type of people they attracted, I am sure most of them bitched about the lunches anyhow.
“Conservative/Tea Party Rally:
participants pay their own way
afterward the grounds are left clean”
We have reason to be Proud to be Conservatives.
Completely, totally disgusting and disgraceful.
...weren’t the greens and environmentalists also at this rally?
So typical of the left. :(
If you think I am joking, I am not, I supervised three different type of Union workers on one job and this is exactly how they operated.
Kristinn — I remember, so dearly as many of us do, the first FR rally at the Washington Memorial. (Bless you, JimRob!) I was part of the cleanup-committee, and as I recall, we had to look for things to pick up. I remember picking up cigarette butts that had been there for ages, and obviously not from our rally! Even the police mentioned that they never see such a clean place after a rally — and that was before we went looking for old butts!
Some of those piles of stuff showed that SOME people at least tried to keep discards in one spot, but the assortment of signs and other trash, that was just dropped, show a different way of thinking.
I thought that the organizers would have read about the clean areas left by the Beck rally, and would have asked their supporters to try to measure up to the same standard. But I guess it was too much to ask.

They bus ‘em, feed ‘em and red shirt ‘em.
Individual thinkers..haha
The slaves arrive.
Looks like some dirtbag busted the corner off the stone bench that woman is standing on too.
Uh-Huh...Uh-Huh
They never do anything for themselves that someone else will do for them.
Professional parasites.
useful idiots.
Grass roots activists spontaneously arriving in identical buses wearing identical shirts and carrying identical cardboard lunch boxes.
I think I read about a world like this when I was a kid in a book called “A Wrinkle In Time.”
So where did they ditch their flags - the free flags that were handed out with their free lunches? They've got to be laying around somewhere.
I suspected this would happen. I’m waiting for a picture of the Mall.
Also, it was clear from the video on TV that turnout was not as large as Beck’s 8/28 rally. I don’t know what the difference was but there were not as many people.
I EXPECTED it, and THEY didn’t disappoint.
