One Nation Rally Trashes WWII Memorial and Arlington Cemetery's Memorial Bridge

Video and photos taken today after the One Nation Working Together Rally concluded show that participants left significant amounts of trash at memorials in our nation's capital dedicated to fallen American servicemen.

The World War II Memorial on the National Mall, which is opposite the Lincoln Memorial where the rally was held this afternoon, had food trash and rally signs all around the granite seating along the perimeter of the Pacific side of the memorial. Colorful signs bearing the logo of rally co-sponsor SEIU are prevalant. Among the signs and water bottles strewn about is what looks like an uneaten Twinkie carelessly dropped at the edge of a fountain commemorating the hard-fought victory in the Pacific theater.

A man wearing what appears to be an SEIU t-shirt is seen sitting near the discarded signs.

Hostagehoosier also posted a video of trash left at the Lincoln Memorial here.

Memorial Bridge, which crosses the Potomac River between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery, was littered with identical cardboard lunch boxes. The boxed lunches were given free of charge to union and NAACP members, along with free t-shirts, free Metro fare cards and free bus rides from across the country to the rally.Freeper Stratman1969 posted several photographs at his Marooned in Marin blog that shows the trash left on Memorial Bridge.

The trash was most likely left by these people as they headed across Memorial Bridge to the rally:

I have sent this link along with the others seen on the forum to folks in my address list.I know some are Democrats who voted for this insanity but rue having done so and have asked questions trying to learn and are now just as vocal as we are here..just as angry....
I hope this mob in DC can be stopped..it is to our advantage now that they have come out of the closet to show who they are SOCIALISTS...MARXISTS AND COMMIES...Now we can call them to their faces just what they are. And it is about time our elected officials in DC do likewise.

What’s with the red shirts? (As if I needed to ask!)

These were obviously groups summoned by their paymasters.

The problem is that the press and the government think they can ignore demonstrations by groups 10 times that size precisely because they aren’t organized paid groups.

A million + citizens show up at the Tea Party, spontaneously and paying their own way, and nobody gives a darn. A few thousand organized Marxists show up, not paying their own way and not spontaneously by any mean and - this is news?

One Nation=SEIU. Ironically, from the debris field left in their wake, it appears the folks who are paid to clean up behind others, refuse to clean-up behind themselves. Then, there are rumors some of them relieved themselves in the fountain.

Liberals - the ones always preaching to the rest about not littering and saving the environment - expect others to clean up their mess. This was cemented in my own mind in 2002 as I left the Independence Day display at Columbus Park in San Jose, CA. Trash of every kind, everywhere. That area is overwhelmingly leftist. I hated living there, and despite having my wife with me felt alone and alienated.

Anecdotally, it has only been confirmed since then, as conservatives and liberals embrace very different mindsets about personal responsibility - mindsets that affect daily choices.

Remember the Mall after the inauguration? I was absolutely appalled. And I don’t appall easily.

This is despicable. But what else can you expect from ‘cRats?

Irony indeed! I am convinced that these choices - whether to toss that coke or bag of popcorn in the trash or in the grass - are driven by one's ideas about whether one should be responsible for himself or whether one believes that there should be a dedicated societal function (unionized of course) for every detail of life.

"I can't throw this away! That's a union function and requires specialized government training, and I'm not a member of that union!"

As a quick follow-up: At a HUGE corporation where I was a contractor, we received our computers. I've set up computers hundreds of times in my lifetime. Plug in the keyboard, the mouse, the monitor, the power, and you're good to go. Every other company - small, private ones - I would do this.

I started performing that very mundane task at this place and my goodness, the proverbial fecal material hit the ventilation device! "Stop! You can't do that! That's a union function!"

As a result, I waited all day until someone came and did in five minutes what I could have done in five minutes. They wasted their money paying me to do nothing while waiting, and doubtless the union wasted much of their money. I saw in that experience a first-hand microcosm of the problem with our government and its waste.

Appalling.

I recognize those blue boxes with the handles that are piled up along the bridge in the photos. Those are the FREE BOX LUNCHES that the union thugs provide to their members after they receive their FREE bus rides to/from rallies.

We've been to enough big rallies in DC now that I know just what to look for: Clueless idiots wearing union colors (ie SEIU purple) walking around with clipboards, LOTS of buses filled with clueless unwashed moonbats wearing matching t-shirts and carrying matching union-printed signs - waiting to be told what to do. And of course those boxes with handles containing their free union-provided lunches.

Incredible, huh?

Those look like lunch boxes or something.

Those are the FREE box lunches the stupid union thugs get from their unions - after their FREE bus ride to/from rallies... to eat once they put on their FREE union-provided t-shirts and collect their FREE union-printed and provided signs to wave at the rallies.

We've been to many big rallies in DC over the years... we see this all the time. Despicable, huh?

I remember being there at The Gathering of Eagles in 2007, and the bridge was covered with trash, dirty baby diapers, discarded posters, etc. after the moonbats marched over it. It was remarkable.

" Ahhh....the great unwashed left! "

It's a ingrained bad attitude... and until they get honest about where the real problems lay, then nothing is ever going to change.

Liberals ? MSM ? Obama ? Democrats ? try looking in the mirror and see where the real problem is.
