TEHRAN Iran's intelligence minister said on Saturday authorities had arrested several "nuclear spies" who were working to derail Tehran's nuclear programme through cyberspace.
Without saying how many people were arrested or when, Heydar Moslehi was quoted on state television's website as saying Iran had "prevented the enemies' destructive activity."
His remarks came against the backdrop of reports that the Stuxnet worm is mutating and wreaking havoc on computerised industrial equipment in Iran and had already infected 30,000 IP addresses.
But Moslehi said intelligence agents had discovered the "destructive activities of the arrogance (Western powers) in cyberspace, and different ways to confront them have been designed and implemented."
"I assure all citizens that the intelligence apparatus currently has complete supervision on cyberspace and will not allow any leak or destruction of our country's nuclear activities."
The website said Moslehi emphasised that his ministry was aware of the different activities of "enemies' spy services."
"We have always faced the destructive action of these (spy) services and a number of nuclear spies have been arrested," he said.

Iran and intelligence in the same sentence. The Mother of All Oxymorons.
I doubt it was an inside job.
Looks like they resorted to human sacrifice to exorcise the worm...
Inside Job... ha ha But I think this is FUD on their part
Just more lies from the liars....all centrifuges were destroyed....they can’t stop Stuxnet and it only mutants as they’ve tried to stop stuxnet....Now companies are running from Iran like the plaqued...they realize if they do business with them...they’re on the list for cyberwar against them....HA
An agency smart enough to design the attack was smart enough to set false trails and get the fools to take out their own best people.
I don’t think it was the Israelis. I think it was the Mahdi, wreaking havoc from cyberspace at the bottom of the well.
This whole stuxnet story is bogus, regarding Itan. It only affected Siemens SCADAs using OS. There are no Siemens at Bushehr or Natanz.
There might be some truth to that. Everything I read said the worm had to be hand-delivered—with an infected USB stick—but they haven’t given any details so they might just be saying that.
I love the idea that the Stuxnet worms may have already wrought considerable material havoc with their nuke program. Indeed, what IF all those gas separation ultra-centrifuges all suddenly spun out of control simultaneously? I know that’s the heart of their operation. The centrifuges have to be made from special “maraging steel” to withstand the forces they are subjected to. If spun too fast they’d go kablooey and that nasty uranium hexafloride gas would make quite a mess.
And it would be delicious if those other Euro companies were bailing out so as not to get infected themselves. Maybe the psychological effect is even more powerful than any physical demolition.
So why haven’t they come right out and denounced the “Little Satan” yet, anyway?
Seems to be sowing seeds of paranoia.
I think your more correct than wrong. But there must be something going on, we just don’t know what, maybe disinformation.
IF it was hand delivered...there are so many angry Iranian citizens who may have perpetrated this or even a German...since they were in these plants. Then it could have been dormant and a certain kick off date was within stuxnet....as they say timing is everything.
In common parlance...... scape goats have been discovered.
In Islam, any event is God’s will. The computer worm is an attack by God on the terrible regime. It may have been implemented by men, but they were acting as directed
Baghdad Bob had more credible reporting!
Innocents.Scapegoats. Somebody has to publicly swing from a crane in order to make the response appear timely and effective. Otherwise, the peasants may sense weakness and uprise again (only to be shunned by Obama again).
another excuse for a purge ... stalin is smiling
