The Candidate of the Day - Harold Johnson (NC-08)

The Key House Races "Candidate of the Day" thread will be posted daily up until Nov. 2 and feature a different candidate each day. Each of these candidates is in a Toss Up, Leans D, or Likely D race and represents one of the front line soldiers in the fierce battle for control of the U.S. House.

The DCCC and liberal special interest groups are pouring resources into these races and will continue to do so up until Nov. 2. Thousands of donations targeted toward the GOP candidates in competitive races will NEUTRALIZE the donations of these Democratic special interest groups. Targeted donations are KEY to the GOP taking back the House in November and derailing the Pelosi/Obama Express of failed economic policies, bailouts, higher taxes, and government takeovers.

If you want your donations to have the greatest impact, here's where to start. Click on the Republican candidate's name below to link to the website where you can make a donation.

Freshman Democrat Larry Kissell won this traditionally Republican seat in the Obama year of 2008. With Obama fading and the Dems looking weak the Republican Harold Johnson, former Marine and well known radio personality, should win this one back. Kissell's suport for the trillion-dollar-stimulus bill and his 96.1% Pelosi voting record will be a big drag on his candidacy.

I'm having some trouble getting behind Johnson.

I didn't like his primary/nomination campaign and am stuck trying to decide if he is yet another rino selected by the rino side of the republican party or something else.

After having voted for lesser evil rino after lesser evil rino to keep full fledged liberals out of DC, including voting for McCain during his many elections and re-elections, I just can't do that any more.

Even though a rino will vote my way more than an admitted, out of the closet liberal will, I view rinos as being more dangerous to country and party, since they cannot be trusted and their votes/statements/actions water down faith and trust in the Republican party, brand and philosophy.

Can anyone help me get beyond this impasse?
