The husband’s note (if it’s actually his writing) was written on a letter from the Social Security Administration to the EMPLOYER. Whitman is the one who reported the wages and paid the applicable withholding and employer taxes so the letter went to her.

Now that I think about it, I haven’t seen a thing about the CA Franchise Tax Board having a problem with the reporting of those wages. They get the exact same report of wages from the employer that the Social Security Administration gets. Did they not catch it all those years?

I mean it's a serious error for Nicky to claim to have found the letter in the garbage when it contains a note from the husband to Nicky.
