Meg Whitman and the Scarlet Letter
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 10/1/10 | Debra J. Saunders

Posted on 10/01/2010 3:28:39 PM PDT by SmithL

Gloria Allred produced a copy of 2003 letter that she said proved that Meg Whitman is a liar who knew that she had hired an illegal immigrant as her housekeeper.

I highly recommend that people read the letter.

Yes, includes a note from husband Griffith Harsh to Diaz that read: "Nicky, please check this, thanks." But it is not a smoking gun.

For one thing, it told Whitman and Harsh that Nicandra Diaz Santillan's Social Security number did not match her name, but it also stated, "This letter does not imply that you or your employee intentionally provided incorrect information about the employee's name or SSN. It is not a basis, in and of itself, for you to take any adverse action against the employee, such as layoff off, suspending, firing or discriminating against the individual. Any employer that uses the information in this letter to justify taking action against an employee may violate state or federal law and be subject to legal consequences."

Is it possible Allred can be sued by the maid for outing her? Ethical violations?

If the maid was an illegal, still is an illegal, and was not under scrutiny by law enforcement, is it not malpractice for the lawyer to announce the maid’s crime?

Just asking..

That’s interesting. Didn’t she start working for them in 2000? So where’s the letter for those tax years? Didn’t she stop working for them in 2009? Where are THOSE subsequent letters from the IRS? This whole thing doesn’t pass the smell test.

I’d like a handwriting analyst to confirm that that’s Grif’s handwriting, first of all. And I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that after getting this letter, “Little Nicky” intercepted any and all other letters from the IRS that came their way.

That whole “I don’t know you,” crap is coming straight from the maid - she of the falsified documents and perjured certification. I wouldn’t believe her if her tongue came notarized.

And Brown is still Attorney General - his office should be looking into criminal prosecution of “Little Nicky” and Allred should lose her law license for her admitting that her client committed an illegal act and exposing her to criminal prosecution.

Put it this way,

By wanting to paint Whitman as a criminal,

Alred paints her own client as a criminal.

That’s a breach of confidence in any business.

i agree. and what is the claim? what dollar amount. usually that is discussed, even though it is not a suit it is a complaint w/the dept of labor, but seriously what $ are we talking about. It’s not been discussed. And that’s cause it’s imaterial because it is just a political hatchet job with hopes of hush money.

“it is just a political hatchet job with hopes of hush money.”

I agree, but unsure on that point. Allred demanded big bucks from Tiger and got it to hush up about one of his ho’s. But there is nothing in this story to say Whitman had a hint about what was coming, no hush money request.

Maybe because, what could it be? The maid thinks she should have gotten severance pay after she admitted she was an illegal? How much, three months worth?

that’s what i’m saying. what exactly is she upset about? she didn’t come out and say whitman owes me $7,500 or $20,000 in back wages and travel expenses or anything. merely that she was not paid. Fine. How much? Allred isn’t cheap. She works on contignency so she must have the expectation of big payoff here either by actual money or by hush money or by publicity (though this is not looking like a winning case for her).

The political implications are more important to me:

Of course, Allred is not relying on anything legal or logical, just merely insinuating.

The timing of this is not accidental. Allred has probably had this illegal on ice and in the wings for some time.

It's all political.

It`s all over for Whitman. I saw a video of her housekeeper crying crocodile tears and complaining about how bad she had it and how Whitman was a racist. I think she was paid 25/30 thousand a year? Yup, thats having it tough! And she spits in Whitmans face. What a racist hag she is.

Whitman should as why AG Jerry Brown is not pursuing this admitted felon that Allred is dragging in front of cameras.

In one interview the maid said she found the letter in the trash. Now it shows up with the husband's note.

It's reasonable that the maid checked the mail and intercepted the letters that came after the one with the note.

The maid is the liar...a well paid liar. She wasn't paid as an illegal alien but as a legal citizen so why would the Whitman's lie?

That was a serious error on their part because the note was to her.

Allred takes advantage of her poor Mexican immigrant client for political advantage.

Doesn’t that make Allred a racist??

Yep, that’s why I think it’s reasonable to think she intercepted any letters after she was aware the SS —or whatever —was onto her.

Alrad says that she is representing Nicki in a complaint thatt she didn’t get auto mileage, and unpaid hours. Another attorney has been hired to represent her immigration status.

So, this scum sucking attorney files a complaint for a few extra dollars for her client, while exposing her client as a Social Security fraud; an illegal alien subject to deportation, jail, significant fines??

Yeah that makes alot of sense!

If Whitman can get her message out to all the beautiful people of Kalifornia, that should expose the RATS for what they are!
