John Bolton, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, tells National Review Online that he is seriously considering a 2012 presidential run. I am a Goldwater conservative, he says. I am not a professional politician. I dont anticipate running a typical kind of campaign, if I do make that decision.
In an interview this morning in his Washington office, Bolton, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and longtime diplomat, opened up about a potential campaign, discussing his views on foreign policy and domestic affairs. I just dont think that a Republican can convincingly oppose the president using talking-point platitudes, Bolton tells us. As he looks at his options, Bolton says that he wants to shape the debate, and hopefully make an impact on the national-security issues.........

Who knew?
Yes. It’s time to swing for the fences!
“Bolton for President
Count me in.
I’d happily support him at the top or bottom of any ticket (Well, any ticket that didn’t include Mitt Romney).
My instinct says he’s shooting to be Sarah’s VP choice and I would imagine he’s at the very top of the list.
Bolton / West - West / Bolton
Bolton would be a great president!
IMHO
he should stay off of Redeye
screw the ratings and exposure
it trivializes everything and demeans conservative guests
to be associated with the gay innuendo and potty humor
I wouldn’t have a problem voting for Bolton.
I used to record RedEye and watch it daily. I seldom do any more; got burned out on it, I guess. Greg kept bringing on that airhead Imogen Lloyd-Webber and that didn’t help either. However, I have always enjoyed Bolton when he’s been on RedEye because he is so non BS in all his answers.
I would LOVE to see him in a live-time debate with 0bama, who has been regalled as being so intelligent by the MSM. Bolton has to be a genius.
Hope he has more energy than Fred Thompson.
Bolton a neo-Goldwater conservative? Nah, Bolton is a big arse neo-con.
I’ve always admired John Bolton and would have to seriously consider him if he made a run for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. However, I would also like to see him as a Secretary of State in a Republican administration. Vice President to Sarah Palin would also be acceptable, assuming Bolton would be used and not shuffled aside as too-often happens to Vice Presidents and very likely would have happened to Palin had McCain been elected president in 2008. In any case, this is a gutsy and encouraging move on Bolton’s part. The reaction should prove interesting.
if Bolton plans to run for anything , he should get out there and be a visible and active part of every large and organized Tea Party event and also get much more vocal about his unequivocal support of our troops and their mission .
These will be the things remembered , not stupid tv appearances
IMO Thompson always was a closet globalist. He did his job of dividing the conservative base until McCain had it and then did the RINO swan dive, right on cue. McCain soon followed.
Total waste of time and money and effort. Completely unelectable.
Ive only seen Bolton on RedEye once and he was pretty quite. He doesnt seem to be the yuk it up kind of guy. Pretty serious. Needed in times like these.
