Will there be a McDonald’s Inquistion now?

Well, this morning, the WSJ brings the grim, completely expected news that fast-food giant McDonald’s has notified the feds that it may be forced to drop health insurance for some 30,000 workers due to the Obamacare mandate:

So all the DemocRATic strategists that having been opining that Obama is at a disadvantage because all the "Good Things" of Obama Care don't kick in until later did not read the bill either!

Come on RATS, start campaigning on OBAMA CARE!!!

There will probably be more of these very high profile companies saying they can’t offer health insurance benefits to their employees.

With each one, more and more folks will be saying, to themselves at least, hey, this is exactly what the conservatives were saying would happen, and I scoffed because I wanted to believe otherwise.

Let me get this straight. We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke; administrated by people who want to emulate the worst aspects of socialized medicine programs in other countries (e.g. rationing and death panels)

They actually pulled the exact same crying jag years ago when they first contemplated raising the minimum wage. The minimum wage got raised and by some miracle McDonalds managed to survive and still offer 99 cent double cheeseburgers.

This is the start. Too bad the November election is before most companies have their open enrollment for 2011 benefits and people see their health care contributions increase drastically.

Are you serious? McDonalds Corp. works for its shareholders. Of course, the shareholders want McD's to make as much profit as possible. Is that hard to understand? And who, exactly, is "greedy" in this story???
