Who needs who more? Does Glenn Beck need Fox News or is it the other way around?
Ailes, who declined to comment for this article, has generally been supportive of Beck. But he has also been vocal around the network about how Beck does not fully appreciate the degree to which Fox News has made him the sensation he has become in recent months. In the days following Becks Lincoln Memorial rally, which by Becks estimate drew a half-million people, Ailes told associates that if Beck were still at Headline News, there would have been 30 people on the Mall. Fox News devoted less news coverage to the rally than CNN and MSNBC did, which Beck has pointed out himself on the air.

Thanks for the post, VR!
True - Beck was best when he was exposing the communists and marxists in the WH. now the prayer crap is turning me off along with many others.
Thanks, and I think you are right!! Glenn is doing a great deal of damage to the Obama Regime and the democrats by telling the truth, exposing the evil regime and this NYT article is meant to cause Glenn and FNC grief and disruption!
Like you said, it's obvious astroturf, made up of vicious lies.
Glenn Beck and Roger Ailes do not have security teams 24/7 to protect themselves from one another. Sheeesh.
Oh they have started already. I have been called a troll(only been on FR for 10 years...ask the NC board). Funny, how differing opinions are verboten
Then we need conservatives and not RINOs. And I agree, I don't want my money gonig to these people.
Sounds like he has ties to CNN and looking for a job.
Fact: Glenn is soaring in the ratings
Fact: The Left would LOVE to topple that score
Headline: Fox and Glenn having problems?
THIS IS HOW THEY DO THIS ! ...H E L L O !
...because YOU don’t get it. -—prolly never did.
AGREED! Well said.
ANOTHER EXCELLENT post on this subject!
Exactly.
Well said onyx!
>>Why do I suspect that this clash of egos is related to the OReally-Sheep Smith jealousy team. I strongly suspect lots of back stabbing from Foxs pseudo conservatives.<<
I agree. I would love to see Beck go to Sheps slot a t 7. Both Beck and O’Reilly’s numbers would go up.
..original story came from a NYT STORY...
>>Becks TV show is practically un-watchable. His whining and self promotion turn me off. The reason Rush is so successful is that he isnt telling you to drop to you knees and pray every 5 seconds. Beck was good when he was all pitchforks and torches now he is a Mormon televangelist<<
Any Christian who is founded and comfortable with their faith is not threatened by Becks Mormon faith. They just filter what he says.
>>Ideologically untrustworthy.<<
Ideologically untrustworthy?? Care to explain that?
>>Church is the right place for that sort of thing.<<
So your faith should stay in Church? Huh??
He has been back on that for the past several weeks...his show yesterday with D'Souza was outstanding...Dinesh will be on again tonight.
Agree.
Also, I think I read the original NYT hit piece from which this was drawn. Beck makes $2.5M from FNC and the contract either ends this year or has another year to go, I can’t recall.
On top of that, Beck has a popular radio show and I have lost count of his best sellers. He has The Blaze. He has his own documentary company. He has a network of wonky political history types who lend the credibility and the original books and documents he presents. Only Beck knows what irons he has in the fire and what he has on tap for the future.
Beck is on a mission to educate America. While I am far from *churchy*, his admonitions to have faith, practice faith and remember we are on God’s side do not turn me off, even if he does admit to still getting on his knees to pray.
What I do like is that he doesn’t ever promote one faith venue over any other.
IMO, no one can replace him because he is not doing any sort of recognizable format. He is his own person and his show is unique. Any book he showcases becomes an instant best seller. Most of these books are relatively obscure and scholarly. Only Beck’s personal influence turns them into automatic best sellers. ONLY 2M viewers at 4pm CST? His numbers went down over the summer, as did every other show’s? Not a very big deal.
If he wanted to, he could buy up all his own ad time with his various venues. FNC is lucky to have him and I think they know it. If there is jealousy and backstabbing at the network, it makes the backstabbers look juvenile and places Beck above the throng. I would not turn on the TV for yet another political interview and opinion show. It is the history and the educational aspect that Beck presents that draws me to watch if I can.
