These are great points, Onyx. The whole idea sounds like sniping, in-fighting/jealousy or opposition (read DNC/Soros/Administration) astroturf or outright falsehoods.

Thanks, and I think you are right!! Glenn is doing a great deal of damage to the Obama Regime and the democrats by telling the truth, exposing the evil regime and this NYT article is meant to cause Glenn and FNC grief and disruption!

Like you said, it's obvious astroturf, made up of vicious lies.

Glenn Beck and Roger Ailes do not have security teams 24/7 to protect themselves from one another. Sheeesh.

Agree.

Also, I think I read the original NYT hit piece from which this was drawn. Beck makes $2.5M from FNC and the contract either ends this year or has another year to go, I can’t recall.

On top of that, Beck has a popular radio show and I have lost count of his best sellers. He has The Blaze. He has his own documentary company. He has a network of wonky political history types who lend the credibility and the original books and documents he presents. Only Beck knows what irons he has in the fire and what he has on tap for the future.

Beck is on a mission to educate America. While I am far from *churchy*, his admonitions to have faith, practice faith and remember we are on God’s side do not turn me off, even if he does admit to still getting on his knees to pray.
What I do like is that he doesn’t ever promote one faith venue over any other.

IMO, no one can replace him because he is not doing any sort of recognizable format. He is his own person and his show is unique. Any book he showcases becomes an instant best seller. Most of these books are relatively obscure and scholarly. Only Beck’s personal influence turns them into automatic best sellers. ONLY 2M viewers at 4pm CST? His numbers went down over the summer, as did every other show’s? Not a very big deal.

If he wanted to, he could buy up all his own ad time with his various venues. FNC is lucky to have him and I think they know it. If there is jealousy and backstabbing at the network, it makes the backstabbers look juvenile and places Beck above the throng. I would not turn on the TV for yet another political interview and opinion show. It is the history and the educational aspect that Beck presents that draws me to watch if I can.
