Who needs who more? Does Glenn Beck need Fox News or is it the other way around?
Ailes, who declined to comment for this article, has generally been supportive of Beck. But he has also been vocal around the network about how Beck does not fully appreciate the degree to which Fox News has made him the sensation he has become in recent months. In the days following Becks Lincoln Memorial rally, which by Becks estimate drew a half-million people, Ailes told associates that if Beck were still at Headline News, there would have been 30 people on the Mall. Fox News devoted less news coverage to the rally than CNN and MSNBC did, which Beck has pointed out himself on the air.

Now watch out for all the insults as if you just insulted their mama
“I hear Mark Levin is pretty good. He could take Becks spot.”
He is but he does have some Michael Savage loose cannon tendencies which could potentially shorten his TV career. I do wish Hannity would quit calling him “The Great One”. It sounds so suckass.
His proselytizing has increased to the point it detracts from his messages of common sense, patriotism and a return to a smaller, ethical, constitutional government.
I think the “The Great One” is a phrase Limbaugh started using several years ago and it stuck.
He is on the NUMBER 1 media outlet with a full hour and free reign over its content.
FOX was number 1 way before Beck and if he were replaced tomorrow, they'd still be number 1 and Beck would be looking for and outlet that lets him have total control over programming content.
They both help each other, but one player is never bigger than the team.
Even the number 1 loud mouth, BOR, on the Number 1 station can be replaced and FOX would keep on trucking.
Fred Grandy (of Love Boat fame) is a former Congressman from Iowa who hosts the morning radio show "The Grandy Group" (formerly Andy & Grandy) on WMAL Conservative Talk Radio in Washington, DC.
He's still plugged in with his former Congressional colleagues and generally knows what he's talking about when it comes to Congress and the media, being a creature of both.
He and Bryan Nehman discussed this story this morning (there a link at the site and below), so there is some ego smoke blowing behind the scenes, and probably backstabbing from BOR and Shep as well.
Given him the exposure to make him a household name. That wouldn't have happened on CNN because a good number of conservatives wouldn't watch CNN.
Just weeks before the most important election of our time, the NYT sends out a hit piece that is obviously meant to cut and disrupt both Fox and Beck at the same time, both enemies of the left and hated by the NYT.
Give me a break.
Beck is a patriot and is delivering a message every American needs to hear.
I’m with you. Beck is screaming from the graves of our forefathers. Every American needs to hear the message, read the Constitution and all the documents that led to the formation of our great nation. History is our friend! Our future depends on whether we remember it and act on our beliefs.
Steyn with a firecracker female co-host then.
FGS. Glenn’s offices are at his Mercury studio and not at FNC so there’s a lot of sniping by the other FNC “personalities.” Glenn has also mentioned that he pays for his research team, not FNC, so there could be “some tension” about that, since FNC is the recipient of Glenn’s reseached material.
combat_boots, please correct me, if I’ve erred.
LOL. DrO will be thrilled to hear that. I’m going to tell him right away. Glenn’s program is the one he never misses and refuses to take phones calls during that hour.
Beck always says, “don't believe me, do your own research!”
Well, when I began to hear him I heard some things that I wasn't sure about and thought he might be taking statements out of context. I did my own research and, bingo - he was exactly right. I have gone through that exercise several times. I now take him at his word.
Beck without Fox is like Obama without TOTUS.
If this is the Fred Grandy I’m thinking of this is Gopher from The Love Boat, who later became a Congressman
Glenn’s TV image is non-threatening and cuddly which lots of women like. Sean Hannity is too abrasive on TV for many women. Bill O’Reilly is always mocking his toughness, is smiling a lot more...he has so many female commentators on his show....All going after the female demographic that advertisers like
Glenn has been giving him pointers on softening your image. Bill O has also been giving Glenn lots of TV advice

These are great points, Onyx. The whole idea sounds like sniping, in-fighting/jealousy or opposition (read DNC/Soros/Administration) astroturf or outright falsehoods.
I would be horrid for female demographics. I like Glenn for his information. I’m not into the silliness.
After 14 years, on several week nights, I find O’Reilly’s ‘program’ insufferable: Colmes & Crowley (Barack & Hardplace), that fast talking black professor, (I switch to FBN) the idiot body language democrat (for women and men I guess). O’Reilly himself only bothers me when he’s interviewing. I don’t mind his talking points. (I can’t name one advertiser of BOR’s)!
