The woman had a SS number and a valid CA driver's license. No she did not have valid ID.

If you were using your brothers ID, yet lived at a separate address, with separate banks, accounts etc, why would the SSA and IRS not know this? How could two people with the same SSN live at separate addresses and have separate sets of documents, bills etc?

The illegal was using her sisters ID.

lol....

So how was Whitman supposed to verify it? There is widespread fraud going on with the USG's knowledge. The E-verify program is voluntary. 40% of the 1.2 million legal immigrants entering annually are really changes in status of illegal aliens. We have the federal government suing the state of AZ for enforcing federal immigration laws. The border remains unsecured. There are not enough resources to expand 287 [g].

This is no laughing matter. Whitman is not the problem. The USG is.

Let me let you in on a little secret. They don't care.

The IRS just wants to make sure you pay your taxes and the SS just wants your FICA.

Outside of that they consider it none of their business. In fact the SS considers it none of your business either. They do not alert you that someone else might be using your number. Unless you file for benefits after that other person. Then they tell you by denying you SS until you prove that you are you.

Then they "adjust" your payment so you only receive credit for what you actually worked. The rest that was paid on your number? Well, they can't give it to the other guy so they keep it.

You also might be denied your full benefits if the other person filed at 62. So get ready to sue again.

It keeps the lawyers employed.
