A former housekeeper for Meg Whitman was "emotionally and financially abused'' during her nine years of employment, an attorney alleged today, adding that the Republican gubernatorial candidate knew the woman was an illegal immigrant.
"In short it was a nightmare,'' said attorney Gloria Allred, who said Nikki Diaz Santillan worked as a housekeeper for Whitman for nine years before she was fired last year.
Allred said that during the woman's years of employment, Whitman caused her "to feel exploited, disrespected, humiliated and emotionally and financially abused.''
"The relationship was terminated last year by Ms. Whitman for what appeared to be political reasons involving Ms. Whitman's decision to run for governor,'' Allred said.
Allred contended that Whitman knew her client was an illegal immigrant, but kept her employed until she decided to run for governor.
Tom Hiltachk, Whitman's attorney, denied the allegation.
"This person was initially hired by Meg Whitman in November 2000,'' Hiltachk said in remarks reported on the Los Angeles Times website. "She filled out standard (Internal Revenue Service) forms and Department of Justice forms and presented her Social Security card and California driver's license. She filled out immigration forms that stated under penalty of perjury that she was a lawful resident.''
Hiltachk said the woman admitted in June 2009 that she was not a legal resident.
"She was immediately suspended and terminated on June 29, 2009,'' he said.
Whitman spokeswoman Andrea Jones Rivera said Allred's news conference was politically motivated. She called Allred "a shameful manipulator'' who is a supporter of Jerry Brown -- Whitman's Democratic opponent in the hotly contested governor's race.
"With the polls tied, it comes as no surprise that the morning after a successful debate for Meg that the sleaze machine of the political left is now focused on the politics of personal destruction.''
I don’t know about anyone else, but I did not see one tear. I heard a lot of pretending but not one tear fell from this liars eyes. Anyone else?

So let me get this straight...
Meg Whitman asked for documentation which this woman provided. Meg didn’t act “racist” and distrust the authenticity of the documents, though she should have, because they turned out to be fraudulent. This woman then intercepted Meg’s mail, stealing letters from the INS in order to perpetuate the fraud. She was paid $23 an hour plus room and board for 9 years.
And now she’s trying to sue Meg for megabucks with a celebrity lawyer with close ties to Jerry Brown and the Democrat party, claiming SHE was “exploited”?
And all of this is supposed to harm Meg Whitman?
It looks like Meg did everything just right, and now this woman is trying to get rich quick while her lawyer plays political dirty tricks.
I really think Gloria and her “client” seriously miscalculated.
Like Arnie, Megs is a great progressive Rino who thinks she is above the law that applies to her inferiors. These elitists enjoy the helpless and dependent peasant slavery flavor of illegal immigration. I’m glad she is getting shaken down by the peasant slaves she shook down. I hope the illegals begin suing every one of their employers for abuse. It is poetic justice. It would help them “progress” beyond their dreams of global serfdom.

The woman had a SS number and a valid CA driver's license. Whitman reported her payments to the IRS. The real question should be why is this maid still in this country and where did she get the SS# and driver's license. I find no fault with Whitman if these are indeed the facts.

The illegal claims she was begging for Whitman's help over her immigration status, and Whitman would not help, and Whitmam allegedly was getting angry because the illegal would not just, "Go away quietly."

In Santa Ana, CA there are buildings on main street that advertize making drivers liences, legal papers,green cards all for the illegals.
Every illegal has these papers so they stand in front of hardware stores to get picked up for a day job.
Plus they don’t pay taxes, want paid in cash.
