There are certain places where people can reasonably expect to have privacy. A college dorm room is not one of those places.
Why did this student decide to have sex in a place where he knew that his roommate or any other person could walk in on him at any time? Obviously, the student was not modest or private.
I would not room with such a person.
Why would he commit suicide? He obviously didn’t care who saw him.
Because he asked his roommate for privacy for a specified period of time and the roommate agreed to give him privacy. Seems like a reasonable expectation that a roommate would honor the agreement.

I’m not so sure any judge in America would agree with you. You’re basically saying it is okay for someone to film and broadcast your image on the internet without your permission while you have sex - just because it is in your own dorm room. If his door was shut, that poor gay kid had every expectation of privacy under the law when it came to being unknowingly filmed and broadcast on the internet.
