NEW JERSEY (WPIX) A freshman at Rutgers University is believed to have committed suicide after he was secretly taped by two other students during a sexual encounter, police said. The video was allegedly broadcast on the internet.

“The young man killed himself. I hope these two get charged with involuntary manslaughter. They should never be allowed on any U.S. campus or be allowed to enroll in any U.S. university.”
Regardless of what the legal system does with these two students, they have created their own hell for themselves.
It will torture their insides for the rest of their days, and only get worse as they mature.
As long as he was not a pedophile with a child or doing something illegal - I do not care. If he is gay, I could care less. I do not condone his lifestyle but this is a young person. The two that recorded him then put it on the web are evil. The kid is dead now. I hope them go to jail for 10 years.
Really sad. The media would be all over it if it was a Christian school and these two evil little creeps where Christians who “outed” this poor kid.
Ravi needs to do some hard time in NJ’s general prison population for about 15 years. Ditto for Ling Wei Ding Dong. Third world s**ts.
It’s not unusual for FReepers not to read the article; just the excerpt.
But it does seem unusual for the one who POSTED the article not to have read it.
Or maybe his parents and friends held your view and he couldn’t face them.
Ravi and Molly?
Yeeah, why wouldn’t he want his family to know? They would have been obliged to accept his choice, affirm their love for him, actually feel proud of him being a homosexual.
Wow.... What a stupid comment
Stating the obvious is often merely a way to express sadness.
It is no more stupid here than saying the sky sure is blue today (as if it might be green or red) is stupid.
Why. They did not kill him. He killed himSELF. Was it wrong to video and post? Probably. A crime? Misdemeanor, MAYBE, and probably not even that.
I can imagine how this went down. New freshman at school. Dude’s “weird” roommate boots him out of his room and he’s pissed off about it. He probably got drunk and said “Har har let’s check out my webcam” and sees this guy in flagrante delecto with another guy which I’m sure his pals found hilarious. Then he and his little gf get all excited and go the extra step of turning it into their own little impromptu reality show using ustream or a simlar service. Then the victim takes it hard and jumps off the GW bridge. Sounds like an episode of Law & Order: SVU.

Perhaps you should dial back on the self-righteousness.
I’m sickened by the comments made by people on here. Nothing like rubbing salt in the wounds of the loved ones he leaves behind.
Mr. Orbitologist, perhaps the high Colorado altitudes have resulted in temporary hypoxia and you are unable to digest my point.
It’s really simple. The guy didn’t kill himself over a sad incident. He killed himself because he knew his acts were immoral and would bring shame on him and his family. That is why he killed himself.
No self-righteousness here, just a lucid observation.
Homosexuality used to be classed as a mental illness. That's what it is, but we're not supposed to say so. Homosexuals have elevated risks of domestic violence, substance abuse, and suicide. These are not happy individuals. And they can be cured -- but only if there is an acknowledgment that there is a problem that deserves a cure.
Society does a huge disservice to tell mentally ill people that they are just fine. Our culture encourages these people to wallow in their mental illness and feel proud of their infirmity.
It is far more loving to gently communicate the fact that homosexuals are living a mistake and they ought to try to get better.
This is (at least) the third thread on this subject in the last two hours. I think wagglebee has already pinged out on one of the other threads.
But I hope he can come over here to this thread with some common sense conservative ideals.
The sheer number of liberal pro-queer replies on this thread are sickening me.
This was an idiotic thing to do, but I disagree with those calling for homicide charges. If Hotlips Houlihan had killed herself after the radio-mic prank in the film M*A*S*H, no one would consider Radar a murderer.
Anyway, prayers for the young man and his family.
Who is rubbing salt in the wound? It’s an observation of fact.
A + B = C
Event C occurred because of A + B
We deal with facts here not emotion. If you want emotion you might try DU.
