Jessica Brady witnesses Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Penn.) giving one of his final floor speeches on the subject of, well, how much he resents that he's giving one of his final floor speeches.
Mainstream Americans must march to the polls this November to express themselves forcefully to stop extremists financed by undisclosed contributors from stifling our democracy, the Pennsylvania Democrat said in a floor statement Tuesday morning...
Within days of the start of the Obama administration, before the ink was dry on his oath of office, Republicans openly bragged about plans to break him and engineer his Waterloo, Specter said of DeMints statements during the health care debate. Announcing that ideological purity was more important than obtaining a majority, the prevailing Republican motto was, Wed rather have 30 Marco Rubios in the Senate than 50 Arlen Specters.

Snarlin’ Arlen doesn’t like (fill in the blank). Specter doesn’t like anyone that I know of.
Come on Arlen! Repeat after me! “Welcome to Walmart!” Say it! LOL!
Specter is absolutely right. Fifty Specters would be useless; thirty Rubios would raise hell. No contest.
You're dead on.
I remember when Chuck Hagel was getting headlines on in the MSM like, "GOP Senator backs Obama on...". It was sickening. No more Hagels. No more Specters. We've all had it with a GOP that has no core conservative values.
Phew...50 Arlen Specters???? I don't even want to contemplate such a thing.
Besides, he has no right to comment. He abandoned the party for selfish reasons. He took a leftward turn, considerably even further than what he had been before, supporting health care and the "stimulus" bill. His demise in primary polling standing was his own fault. There is nothing moderate or middle of the road about supporting either of those bills.
I really, really don’t like Arlen!
0bama engineered his own Waterloo, Arlen.
But he couldn’t have done it without your help.
I’d like to take this final opportunity to thank Specter for at least having the decency to switch parties instead of tainting the GOP with his porkulus and 0bamaCare votes, and providing 0bama with “bipartisan” cover.
The biggest sore loser since Jeffords.
Blech.
I really, really, really like Jim Demint.
Arlen who?
Arlen Specter is now Arlen Spectator.
Put him up in the cheap seats.
‘Arlen Specter’ is politicalspeak for ‘Rapidly Fading Into Irrelevance’.
You could look it up.
GET OUT you magic bullet theory, Scottish law spouting, back stabbing POS!
Get out NOW!
stop extremists financed by undisclosed contributors from stifling our democracy... I thought of Soros right away.
You mean like George Soros or the hidden Victory Mosque funders?
And once more before you leave office for good: RIP Holly Maddux
With his endorsement of Toomey, and thus the “eminent traditions” of the senate, DeMint destroyed Specter. He was smoked out. And good riddance to him and all those like him. They’ve been traitors for years.
