Dukakis shared his strategy for midterm elections at the White House

Former Massachusetts Governor Michael S. Dukakis, the failed 1988 presidential nominee, recently visited the White House and delivered his strategy for the midterm elections: pound key precincts across the country with the message that Republicans want to implement the same policies that led to the Great Recession.

Dukakis, who said in a telephone interview that he "popped in" to the White House while on a trip here several weeks ago, said he told aides to President Obama that Republicans "want to go back and do exactly what got us in this mess in the first place."

"It seems to me there has to be a single message coming from Democrats, from the president on down," Dukakis said. "We've got to pound that message as hard as can from now until November."

Asked if the White House aides were receptive, he said, "I think they certainly get it." He declined to name the aides he met at the White House.

Dukakis said that it was also important for Democrats to remind voters that former President George W. Bush left the country with an increasing deficit.

Boy, they are in trouble if they are taking advice for this creep.

If the White House is looking to Dukakis for advice on how to run a successful campaign, they must be real desperate, or stupid. While they are at it, they could bring out Mondale, Kerry, and Gore and call their campaign, “Four Losers equals a Winner in 2010”

The Democrats have their head in the sand. Can’t they see and hear us? Maybe they think their supporters can overwhelm us. Sure hope the Commies, Marxists, and Socialists in this country are the minority.

This has GOT to be a joke!

Jimmy Carter has now officially been replaced as worst president ever if this is true.

Holy crap......

Wasn’t Dukakis the guy who created a Sacco and Vanzetti holiday and let murderers sentenced to life imprisonment without parole out of jail for weekend “furloughs” -——and some of them murdered again or committed other heinous crimes, such as Willie Horton and his rape/attempted murder?

The reason why Republicans won in 1994 is because the liberal left was ruling in Clinton’s first term—and Clinton brought Jimmy Carter people out of mothballs......now Dukakis is back.....

Looks bad for the Dems.....

I think this is a great idea go out and inform everyone that it is congress who holds the purse strings and they the dems have had control of the congress since 2006. Blame the dems for all our problems.

Considering what happened to them in their respective elections, and continuing the theme of everybody singing the same tune, maybe they could call it “The Four Castrati”.

“You put an amo dump right next to a hospital, that way the enemy won't bomb it. I learned that trick from the Germans.”

Hawk Eye; “Great, now we're taking lessons from the losers.”

I don't know why that scene from a MASH episode just flashed into my head.

It sounds like a joke, but I’m glad it’s happening. I so hope for a historic Republican victory.

Asked if the White House aides were receptive, he said, "I think they certainly get it."

Why do I get the feeling they patronized him and said something like "Thanks, Mike. Great feedback, we'll be in touch" and then laughed behind his back when he got in his tank and left.
