Not content with offending Canadians, CEO Reed Hastings wasted no time insulting Americans. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hastings was asked if he was worried that U.S. subscribers would be upset that the company was offering Canadians an unlimited movie streaming service for $7.99 per month, one dollar less than what Americans had to pay. Hastings replied:
How much has it been your experience that Americans follow what happens in the world? It's something we'll monitor, but Americans are somewhat self-absorbed.
Wow. Netflix basically told all Americans that we’re dumb and unobservant. Great public relations, Reed! Hastings issued yet another Netflix apology on its blog:
My Big American Foot is in my mouth. I do not believe that one of the most philanthropically-minded nations in the world (America) is self-absorbed or full of self-absorbed people. My apologies to anyone offended by my self-absorbed comment.

Then I must be the unluckiest person in the U.S. because at least 50% of the ones I got were defective. It was ridiculous.
I found that washing them fixes most.

No it isn’t. Currently the Canuck buck is trading a few cents below the US. It may reach parity soon or not. It may rise above the US dollar or not but as of now it is worth a few cents less.
But on the other hand we are easily offended and great at righteous indignation...
This is so typical. It places blame upon those who are offended when the blame should be upon the one making the statement.

Not necc. As a former canuck, the country doesnt necc follow the rule. For instance, I went back to my crappy hometown of Vancouver BC during the Olympics. I went to my local comic store and on DC/ Marvel comics there’s a price of 3.99 US/3.99 CAN.
There’s a sign behind the clerk that says “the price is NOT 3.99 but 4.99 due to inflation’ which is absolute rubbish because the price on the comic says so. And dont get me started with the national HST.

And to think the Dems got away with running an election on this kind of stupid elitism in the US! Obammy is the smartest guy of all - The One!
