Weve seen plenty of Democrats in tight races trying to distance themselves from President Obama. But one Democrat, North Dakotas Rep. Earl Pomeroy, is taking this a step farther by actually embracing President George W. Bush.
Pomeroy is locked in whats shaping up to be the toughest contest of his 17-year House career. He faces GOP state Rep. Rick Berg
In his latest ad, Pomeroy goes a step further, highlighting his support for the Bush prescription drug plan which he says Berg would roll back.
The ad opens with a bill signing featuring President Bush while a womans voice says, When George Bush proposed a Medicare prescription drug plan, Earl Pomeroy voted yes, putting seniors before party.. Rick Berg would roll back prescription drug coverage.
To be sure, Pomeroy sits in one of the most Republican states in the country. McCain carried North Dakota with 53 percent of the vote. And, his campaign notes that this ad was in response to an earlier ad by the GOP that attacked him for voting with Speaker Nancy Pelosi 97 percent of the time.
Dem Rep. Earl Pomeroy, who voted with Pelosi 97% of the time, is now running a pro-Bush ad in North Dakota. Amy Walter at ABCs The Note reported:
The socialist touts his support of a socialist Bush policy. Real independant guy there huh?
This is what they do in conservative-leaning states. This is the same crapfest of lies Ben Nelson told over and over here in Nebraska; “see, I’m a conservative democrat”. The current lying democrat running against Lee Terry in Nebraska is doing the same thing and he doesn’t id himself as a democrat.
FUBO
They will vote for Pelosi and Reid as House and Senate leaders over and over.
lol...
You’ll either vote for Pelosi or Reid, or you’ll vote for America. It’s that simple.
We can't roll back the Bush entitlements, that would get the Democrats mad. Now some Dems are treating Bush like a fellow Democrat.
I still wonder if Bush was a Democrat plant hired by Pelosi to make her Speaker.
I remember Bush fawning all over Pelosi “ Wow, the first woman Speaker”
Blah Blah Blah.
Sick of libs ;-)
bmp for later
Too funny.
Perhaps one day in a more honest time Bush will be remembered somewhat fondly by the left? ;d
Isn’t this odd?
Pomeroy's ads seem to run 5-1 over the challenger.
Buz out here in Virginia 5th [I think George Caylor is the source — he could ultiamately become a benign kingmaker of this district] is that Soros is pumping Perriello with cash, and that Soros did the same thing in the last election. This is the first I’ve heard of that.
Perriello is suddenly going at Hurt with very effective attack ads exposing Hurt for being the RINO he is [and exploiting his name “A world of Hurt”]. Despite the lopsided polling results, I’m mildly concerned. Hurt really isn’t popular outside the RINO beltway.
