The Christiane Amanpour as "This Week" host experiment so far is a huge failure for ABC as ratings have plummeted since she took over the Sunday political talk show.
Last Sunday's program attracted 29 percent less viewers than the same day last year.
Making matters worse for ABC executives is the fact that Amanpour's numbers are far worse than interim host Jake Tapper's who did most of the anchoring after George Stephanopoulos left for "Good Morning America."
As Steve Krakauer reported Monday, the decision to bring Amanpour over from CNN is so far not looking like a good one:

Worse news for Christina is that the guy that hired her got the boot.

Last Sunday's program attracted 29 percent less viewers than the same day last year. Oddly enough, that is the same percentage of nursing home beds that became available.
Just kidding! I'm joking! Settle down. Just having a little fun here.
And making a point at the same time.

Must be because the viewers are sexist.
It’s never the fault of the LIQ (leftist in question),
it’s always the fault of the masses.

Not surprising as Amanpour’s condescending, self-righteous and patronizing manner has always been difficult to take, and now she isn’t even pretty anymore.

Recently I've started skipping quickly through the interview sections of the Sunday morning shows and only really watching the roundtable section. None of them have strong enough interviewers to cut through the standard talking points each sides interviewees have prepared. However, it is interesting to see how George Will will link a nuclear armed Iran to baseball this week.

Apart from her politics, she has some kind of accent that makes it a little hard to listen and understand comfortably.

Here’s the good news for ABC .... in this article the word
plummet was used... not to worry, soon, when the ratings
hit bottom... plummet will not be an operative word to use.
Not much amazes me these days... but to have selected this
monster to represent ABC is in fact amazing.

She is incredibly boring. I hate the way she pronounces ‘Afganistan’, her Iranian/English background sounds like Thurstan Howell the third on Gilligan's Island.

ABC should have bothered to hire a marketing firm to do some research on Amanpour ~ if they could stand to do it.
I suspect the hiring here was made for ideological reasons and little more ~ maybe some personal favors or something, but this woman has NEVER been able to command my attention for more than a millisecond.
