Also, I guess it’s a question of which would you rather do, freeze in the winter or broil in the summer?
Hmmm,, i wonder what Texas was appealing? Taxes low? No personal income tax? An aggressively pro-business environment?
The fact that Dayton is even a candidate is enough to scare me away.
Maybe they’re going to be closer to their customer base of illegals wiring money back to their families in Mexico.
I worked on Moneygram software for 7-11 atms. I believe Moneygram bought 7-11 or at least the ATM part of it, and that was located in Dallas, so it makes sense.
Also the weather - except for the summers - is a great improvement. I like Dallas. Kind of wish I lived there. I might still have a job!
Not surprised. Having lived in both Minnesotastan and Dallas, Dallas wins hands down. Minnesota is a California wannabee in their liberal mentality and tax burden on corporations and individuals. Dallas is more business friendly and less regulation/taxes compared to MSP, plus the cost of living is less. MSP had a great QOL but, like Cali., they are destroying it with demorat regulation and multi-culti love for things unamerican like shari’a law in little Somalia, etc... MSP took pride in their nickname the “Little Apple” trying to emulate and become the NYC of the midwest. Instead they are chasing away business. If Dayton and his ilk continue to get elected the day will come where 3M, Best Buy, Target, Cargill and Carlson Companies will move their HQs to somewhere more business friendly. Then Minnesotastan can revel in all its glory, goal achieved, it will become the California of the midwest.
In closing, moving to Texas may make the headlines, but many small businesses and expanding businesses are choosing the Dakotas, for a midwest presence, over Minnesotastan due to the anti-business climate in Minn.
Plus it’s probably cheaper to send all that home money to MX than Somalia. ;)
Us rubes down here in Texas have finally adopted air conditioning. Now we can stay just about any temperature we want year round.
We may boil, but you don’t have to shovel heat and you don’t change tires to deal with hot roads. Oh and the 75 folks that are leaving will not need as many sweaters or snow shovels or a 7.85% tax on their income paid to the STATE. Finally the overall cost of living - housing and other stuff is 18% lower in Dallas than at the home of the Prairie Home companion. Welcome thanks for brining your jobs. Soon you will want to move the other 800 here too.
Also, I guess it's a question of which would you rather learn, Arabic or Spanish.
Somali would be more appropriate here in MN.
