I am currently unemployed which means, no job= no car. I cant afford it. I’d love a used car, nothing special, just something with 4 wheels and a steering wheel will do but I would still have to pay for insurance, etc

Got it.

You'll get out of that situation. You're smart, and you've got the right attitude. Your posts reveal that about you.

Have fun at the rally!

LOL Ok, I’ll be there. I work PT for a production co and believe me, there are LOTS of closet conservatives whom I met in the past 4 years. The best one was a year ago, and the “person” works for NBC. The “person” said as long as u drive a Prius, these liberal idiots will never suspect you’.

I bet there are more Conservatives there than one might think.

A lady at my church has a son who's an actor. According to him, we'd be surprised to know how many conservatives there really are in the business.

Those are loooonnnng blocks, too far. I’m going to check out that 704 Windflier mentioned. I know there is one that goes there, if not that one. I think everyone else is getting pretty bored with our travel arrangements so if I find anything I’ll post you.

Thanks so much. Really appreciate your kind words. I hope I can attend. I was surprised when I heard it would be in Beverly Hills..never been to a tea party rally before, actually never been to a rally at all so this would be the first.
Eventually I will get a job, but if Boxer and Brown win, I am afraid it will just get worse. Luckily I live at home right now and don’t have many expenses, I can’t even imagine where I would be if I were living on my own

I don’t think that map is right. It seems to show it waaaaaay down, like almost at the ocean. If you run a mapquest it’s east of Century City mall.

The 4 and the 704 run down SMBlvd. But that map doesn’t jibe with the street address given.

In a city like Los Angeles, being on your own without personal transport is nearly a death sentence. It really is that bad.

In the meantime, there are loads of Freepers in L.A. Why not put up a quick vanity to see if you can catch a ride to the rally with any of them?

It'll be well worth your trouble. Tea Party rallies are unforgettable, and extremely uplifting.

I was in the business for 20 years and there are tons of us in LA. Most of us just keep quiet about it.

As a native Angeleno, I still don’t know how you manage to survive in L.A. without a car.

I got rid of mine a year ago. It's not that bad.

Maybe if you're retired, don't have a family, or you spend all of your life in one small geographic circle. For 99% of the population, that's just not a realistic lifestyle, hence the need for personal transport.

Besides, SoCal is such an enormous and interesting place. Most people who live there enjoy having the personal mobility to see any part of it, whenever they want. It's damn near impossible to do that on the bus.

I might be able to get my Mom to bring me there, or my sister. I am so used to taking the bus I guess I Just got used to it. Been taking the bus for years so its an everyday routine for me.
It would be great to attend the rally. Watching it on TV does not give it justice. Just being there would be amazing, and plus, I would meet new people. Always good to meet new people so I hope I can go

Little advice. Stretch...reach. Put some wheels under your feet. You'll soon wonder why on earth you didn't make it happen sooner.

Real life is out there ----->

You need wheels to get there.

I’m not real sure what you mean. But I let the Bus Co map it for me and from SM/4th in SM take the 704 East and it drops at Canon and then it appears you have to walk a good block and half to the park site on another street.

You don't need a car to rock out to the sound of Pat Boone's Tutti Frutti:

I hear ya. I will eventually get some wheels. I’m not picky, as long as it has 4 wheels and a steering wheel I am fine with that. I like the Nissan Sentra, that’s the only car Ive taken lessons in that I actually feel good in and can maneuver so I will probably get a used Nissan.
