There has been a dramatic development in the race for New York governor.
A new poll has Republican Carl Paladino within striking distance of Democrat Andrew Cuomo as voters say they want to elect someone who will stop the circus in Albany.
Wednesday was supposed to be Cuomos day as he picked up the endorsement of New York Citys notoriously independent mayor, Michael Bloomberg, in the race for governor.
But a new poll changed that because it turned Cuomos once comfortable front-runner status on its head.
So nothing surprises me. Im in politics. Im in government, Cuomo told CBS 2′s Marcia Kramer.
Why does Cuomo think hes better able to fix Albany than Paladino.
My argument then is, Marcia, look at what I have done as attorney general, Cuomo said. Ive not only been articulating the dissatisfaction with Albany Ive been acting on it. Ive been very aggressive in bringing public integrity cases and public corruption cases and bring cases against sitting legislators.
But for all his actions as the states chief law enforcement officer, Cuomo did have a little problem with telling the truth about his election box support for Mayor Bloomberg.
Have I voted for the mayor? Yes, Cuomo said.
Actually, he didnt. The Cuomo campaign had to issue a clarification, saying he was only registered to vote in New York City in 2005 when he endorsed Democrat Fernando Ferrer.
Political experts say Cuomo cant afford to make a mistake like that in a close contest.
Mario was an arrogant “I know better than you, so shut up and sit down” elitist know it all who impossed himself on the people whether they liked it or not, apples don’t fall far from the tree. Andy expects...demands this governorship. smack downs a comin! you go Carl!
Add me to that Paladino ping list!
My memory of Mario was that he gave these ponderous, never-ending speeches that were essentially content-free. He loved the sound of his own voice. Sort of like a lefty version of Newt Gingrich. Andrew Cuomo doesn’t have the long-winded problem of Mario, but is basically inarticulate and thuggish.
You’ve been added.
BTTT.
"Have I voted for the mayor? Yes," Cuomo said. Actually, he didn't. The Cuomo campaign had to issue a clarification, saying he was only registered to vote in New York City in 2005 when he endorsed Democrat Fernando Ferrer.s/b "Actually, he lied." Thanks milwguy.
Maybe he'd give you his rendition of his father's famous line: That Is Not The Point!
Interesting comparison since the Kennedys and Cuomos hate each oterh ever since his divorce from Kerry Kennedy (Bobby’s Girl) for HER philandering.
apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
Oh and message to Lazio: GIVE IT UP!!
