There has been a dramatic development in the race for New York governor.
A new poll has Republican Carl Paladino within striking distance of Democrat Andrew Cuomo as voters say they want to elect someone who will stop the circus in Albany.
Wednesday was supposed to be Cuomos day as he picked up the endorsement of New York Citys notoriously independent mayor, Michael Bloomberg, in the race for governor.
But a new poll changed that because it turned Cuomos once comfortable front-runner status on its head.
So nothing surprises me. Im in politics. Im in government, Cuomo told CBS 2′s Marcia Kramer.
Why does Cuomo think hes better able to fix Albany than Paladino.
My argument then is, Marcia, look at what I have done as attorney general, Cuomo said. Ive not only been articulating the dissatisfaction with Albany Ive been acting on it. Ive been very aggressive in bringing public integrity cases and public corruption cases and bring cases against sitting legislators.
But for all his actions as the states chief law enforcement officer, Cuomo did have a little problem with telling the truth about his election box support for Mayor Bloomberg.
Have I voted for the mayor? Yes, Cuomo said.
Actually, he didnt. The Cuomo campaign had to issue a clarification, saying he was only registered to vote in New York City in 2005 when he endorsed Democrat Fernando Ferrer.
Political experts say Cuomo cant afford to make a mistake like that in a close contest.
Early today, someone posted that Paladino is Chris Christie meets Tony Soprano. This is gonna get bloody and I hope Paladino takes out the corrupt bastard Cuomo.
If Lazio stays in and takes votes away from Paladino, well...I just don’t know what.
Christie is a big mouthed bully.
Paladino is the real deal.
Is Christie going to weigh in on this and support Palandino or is this out of his realm?
These guys are really going to the mattresses.
ROTFLMAO! All that is needed is some really great ads illustrating this dimwit’s voting record & over-all sleaziness. I predict an upset....
Cuomo has been on an unending quest for higher office, but people just don’t like him. He’s constantly using his position as Attorney General to investigate and punish people that stand in his path to power rather than working for the voters. His sense of self-entitlement is off the charts. Also doesn’t help that he resembles Milton the Monster.
Christie is the real deal. He seems like a “bully” because he tells the truth. When you have 100% belief in what you’re saying, it can come across as arrogance or even “bullying”, I suppose. But saying Christie is not the real deal? Come on now.
Didn't Christie support Castle?
He did, and Palin endorsed McCain.
So what? At least Christie isn’t complaining about how unfair it is for Castle that he lost.
Yup, he did. Big mistake.
So far Christie has been a big plus for NJ. The issue I have with him thought is that he is a gun-grabber, pro-illegal, mosque supporter and Castle supporter. Other than that he is doing well.
That is a tad bit different. McCain introduced Palin to America and she was his running mate. Castle had no such relationship with Christie.
Paladino’s a real New Yorker, I think the people will recognize that and send Andy packing
Lazio will do whatever NYS conservative party chairman Mike Long tells him to do. And Long wants that third spot on the ballot. If Lazio drops out the conservative party loses its ballot spot completely. It would have to go through the petition process again. This is why the Working Families Party agreed to Cuomo’s demand about its donations and fundraising. If he had refused its endorsement the WFP would not get the 50K votes needed to keep the line. Lazio will remain in the race. It’s political, it’s corrupt,it’s anti citizen, it’s New York.
Maybe he’ll get elected anyway. It is New York, after all.
“Christie is a big mouthed bully.”
WHAT? You lost me on that comment!
heads up
