This is part and parcel with the situation in our world. Celebrities, by virtue of their celebrity, know more than the rest of us educated, tax-paying folks and, because of their celebrity, their opinions, however uninformed and juvenile, are given tremendous weight. This stunt is for the masses. Congress knows many people hold Colbert in high esteem and, therefore, will listen to “reason.” I wonder if he intends to read from a script or just ad-lib.
Pitchforks and torches, tar and feathers.

Nope. I have not watched network news or some shows on Fox for many years. There are no decent shows or movies to see.

I bet Sean Hannity has been on the AZ border a few more times than Steven Colbert has been ‘in the fields’ for migrant workers. But, who needs balance?

Thus is an old tactics by the Dems. Back in the 1980s Dems had Sissy Spacetic and a couple other actresses testify about the “Farm crisis” because they had played farm wives in movies that year!

Just what kind of expert is he or gaga for that matter? I suspect Gaga is a cross dressing homosexual male in reality.

Somehow, celebrity = expertise. This is exactly what Rush Limbaugh spoke of yesterday. He said that Hollywood is "politics for the stupid", and DC is "Hollywood for the ugly". Seems to me the Dems have both of that ideas covered here.

Well since Gaga is probably a cross dressing homosexual male, it at least would have some relevance to homosexuality. Cobert has what relevance here?

And farm workers should be in a temporary worker program to begin with They used to be called migrant workers...what happened?
To: Getsmart64
They used to be called migrant workers...what happened? I thought about that also when I first read this. There are still migrant workers, but since many family farms have been replaced by large, corporate farms, there is probably a demand for cheap labor year round on some of those corporate operations. Just a logical guess, but corporations have been known to lure the cheap, illegal alien labor.

Cobert has what relevance here? A liberal comedian who once ridiculed President Bush to his face at a corespondent's' dinner.
