N. Korea: Delay of Party Conference Until 28th, due to Sudden Respiratory Difficulty of Kim Jong-il
-Kim Jong-il underwent emergency treatment in early morning of Sept. 8 after his anti-stroke medication caused side-effect, resulting in respiratory difficulty.

According to a high level source on Sept. 20, it is certainly Kim Jong-il's health problem which delayed the party conference scheduled to be held early September.
In the early morning of Sept. 8, Kim Jong-il was administered with anti-stroke medication, but it ended up causing side-effect which resulted in thrombotic infarct(blood clot?) inside the vein of his right ventricle, raising diastolic blood pressure. An emergency treatment is said to have been performed. This episode led to deterioration of his health, and he was required to have at least 15 days of rest and stay away from any demanding workload.
The medical staffs also cautioned that the next three months are critical for his health. His close associates are anxious and worried that his health may badly deteriorate.
Because of such a development, the party conference was reportedly shortened to a single day session instead of original schedule of 3 nights 4 days. Furthermore, Kim Jong-il's public appearance said to be less and less frequent in the future. The source said that the news of Kim giving field guidance on Sept. 11 and 12 in Jagang Province was a fabrication because Kim did not give any field guidance after Sept. 8.
Finally, even if N. Korean authorities gave the announcement that the party conference would be rescheduled to convene on Sept 28, nobody can be 100% certain if his health would sufficiently recover in time or not.
