As we reported earlier today, for her very first outing on ABC's dance competition series "Dancing with the Stars," Bristol Palin, daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and America's Most Famous Unwed Teen Mom, will do the Cha Cha to "Mama Told Me (Not To Come)."

[Insert your double entendre joke here.]

Here's a preview of the hit Three Dog Night tune from 1970: Music

I think this is great for her, and I wish her nothing but the best, so far she is coming across as a very nice girl... who is a little shy.

“As a result of the young mom moving forward in the competition, Sarah will get a chance to see her baby in the ballroom. Bristol revealed to Access Hollywood on Monday night that her mom would be heading to town for Week 2.

“She couldn’t make it, scheduling and timing didn’t work out,” she explained of Sarah’s Monday absence.

“But, she’ll be here next week.”

DWTS would be foolish to eliminate Bristol.
She’s a huge rating’s draw.
So, now Sarah is planning to attend next week?
OH WOW!

I'd say our opinions on appropriate behavior are pretty far apart

You appear to want to dictate what other people do and pronounce your opinion as The Law. Numberonepal hasn't done that.

Dancing with the Stars began its eleventh season with a bang, bringing in 20 million viewers and giving ABC a ratings victory for the evening!

Monday: Dancing, Castle, Two and a Half Men Up ; Lone Star No Star; + The Event, Hawaii Five-0

ABC has to be feeling pretty good, with both CBS & NBC at least content for a day. Over at Fox it’s more “oh my!” and not in a good way.

ABC won the night with adults 18-49 and total viewers with both Dancing with the Stars and Castle up 22% in adults 18-49 vs. last year’s premiere. DWTS averaged a 5.0 rating between 8p-10p. Any overrun for Dancing with the Stars will cause later adjustments for Castle in the finals.

Bristol is not at all clumsy or ill-coordinated, but she isn't a figure of terpsichorean grace, either. Her performance was not exactly riveting, that's for sure.

One of the problems is that she was mis-matched with her partner. She's very chunky and big-looking....and he looked like Twiggy compared to her. It just was a total partner misalignment.

But she gets an E for Effort for the hard work she put into the exhibition. I imagine the whole couple weeks were a lot of fun for her, also....and no one deserves it more than she.

~LOL~ How many tuned in hoping to see Sarah Palin there? I bet a bunch... I think it was very classy for her to stay away and let her daughter have the spotlight.

This will not hurt Sarah’s career for honest voters

If Dancing with the Stars can bring down Palin's career, which is absolutely rediculous, then Palin can't weather the real storms. Agree with you.

Your picture of Palin reminded me of:

Depicted in the film, The Queen, [played by Helen Mirren] Liz would take the oldest Defender Land Rover from the fleet (alone..she was a mechanic in World War 2)out into the countryside of the estate. She gets stuck in the stream when crossing and diagnoses the damage to its undercarriage. A following scene scene shows her sitting looking out at the beauty of the moors, her face blurred and a stag suddenly rising up majestically over her shoulder. Prince Philip was off bird hunting with family nearby. She could hear shots coming from neighbors hunting. Critics called that stag scene the film’s central metaphor, but that was not my point.

Palin in the photo on the 4-wheeler all terrain and Bristol telling Leno that her mother was out Caribou hunting reminded me of that visual of the Queen's (and Prince's) love of the moors. Liz driving her old Defender 110 enjoying the land (she did not shoot, but was the pheasant snafu), the prince pheasant hunting; the Palin family's love of Alaska, [often the frozen moors] Sarah driving her ATV and hunting and fishing with Todd (and family) who also races snowmobiles.

Could you visualize the White House redecorated like this? The Left - anti-gun, the animal rights crowd would have a stroke!
