How many Dems are the NRA going to endorse before the members wake the hell up?

I think the real question is "how many angry members calling does it take for the NRA to wake up?"

From the people I've spoken to at the NRA when calling about Reid, Markey and now this, it's quite apparent they mean well, but have no idea how polarized their base is, given the current political climate. I've told them in no uncertain terms that endorsing any democrat, incumbency be damned, when there is a Republican who is rated just as highly, is no longer an option given the broader picture. The political battlefield has changed, and they must adapt.

As I've said before, this is why I donate to specific candidates of my own choosing only; not to the RNC, the NRA-PVF, or any other general fund.

“What Democrat doesn’t vote in a block to curtail our Liberties in any way they can? We had a good example of the “block” when they voted for Obamacare.”

True, but the NRA has hurt them so many times they no longer make serious attempts. How many anti gun bills have passed or even been brought to the floor in the last 10 years? I remember when we were constantly under assault. Weaken the NRA and it will happen again.

Well, by the time the NRA discovers what a mistake it has made, BOTH remaining members might resign too!!

the process isn’t and can NEVER be foolproof

Well, I agree with you there because it sure was a damn fool who picked Markey over Gardner on the gun rights issue.

I just disagree with the whole NRA premise that it's necessary to endorse squishy Democrats over solid Republicans to maintain support among some Democrats. What got the Dem leadership to stop supporting more gun control was fear when in the late '90's and 2000's pro-gun control Dems began losing elections to pro-Second Amendment Republicans. By 2004 you even had Kerry pretending to be a hunter himself. That didn't happen because the NRA made nice to the Dems, it happened out of a sense of self-preservation.

The problem is, they support dems and repubs when they are both pro 2nd amendment.

But the dem supports the dem machine, and the machine is certainly NOT pro 2nd amendment.

Well... they support the incumbent when both are pro 2nd Amendment. Just happens these are dems in this case. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

I agree the machine is NOT pro 2nd Amendment, but thanks to the NRA's policies, they have been able to be kept in check - where are the assault rifle bans from the Clinton Administration? Nonexistent, thanks - arguably - to the NRA's policy of the incumbent support you hate.

Listen, I want control of both chambers as much as you, but pressuring the NRA isn't the way to do it.

Actually the RATS themselves blamed their loss of congress in 1994 on the NRA. They suddenly decided that pushing gun control was a sure loser and have avoided tangling with the NRA ever since. In many polls the NRA is considered one of the most effective lobbying groups. Its not perfect, but its hard to argue against their success.

Yeah, this stuff again from LaPierre. We’ll deal with that bunch after we kick out their Democrat pals. I’m a life member just so I can see what they are up to, but I’m sick of the NRA.

Yes the NRA has been taken over by RINOs.

this is going to be a long fight to rid ourselves of the liberal take over of America.

Carney’s district here..... and my NRA membership just expired with the resulting phone call showing NRA on my caller ID every night.

Appears I won’t be renewing.

When are you NRA apologists going to understand that backing Democrats is ALWAYS an anti-gun act!

pro gun RATS will likely be more conservative and less likely to support Pelosi for Speaker.

Ofcourse they are going to vote for her as Speaker!

A pro-gun Democrat is like a pro-life one, just waiting to be bought off to give the key vote to pass the Democrat agenda.

The Obamacare voting should have shown you that.

There are NO conservative Democrats.

That is because they have had other issues to tackle and knew that the gun issue was too hot for them to handle.

When they get determined to deal with it, they will ram down legislation and twist the arms of the these 'pro-gun' Democrats to pass it.

This isn't complicated-recognize that Democrats are anti-gun-period. Just as they are pro-tax, pro-spending, anti-life.

When a Democrat runs as being otherwise, he is lying.

If you support a Democrat, you are supporting their agenda.
