This video is horrifying and maybe just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
God help us if "security" forces have the right to determine who can and who can't talk

Many times people fly off the handle based on a single incomplete or poorly written article without knowing what else is going on, or if there are more facts out there. It is one of the most discouraging things about reading posts on FR. The picture of the APC’s at Waco on this thread are a prime example. Private security guards dealing with a non cooperative person at a state fair is not a sign of the Apocalypse.
Always. I don't know of a single fairgrounds in America that is state-owned property. Not one. And that includes county fairs. They're all privately-owned.
I didn’t have a knee jerk reaction. All I said was I can’t believe people are supporting the take down of this guy. They handle him like a violent perp. He wasn’t being violent.
Just because they LATER found a gun in his backpack does not give them the right to manhandle the guy. He was not being violent, he was just being loud. If they wanted him off the property then they should have asked him to leave and then called law enforcement to handle the situation.
“Wow there are people on here defending the take down of this man. Unreal!!”
I AGREE! I am STUNNED to see this reaction. I don’t know when I’ve been so ANGRY after watching this video.
See the bigger picture.
It wasn’t about you. Look over the responses here. As for the gun part, you asked, I answered. I never said they took him down for the gun, only that was one of the facts you didn’t find in the flurry of outrage from the professionally outraged.
Besides intentionally causing a disturbance, the guy’s a LaRouchie.
As I said, I don’t know of any. Fairgrounds are usually owned by a fair board, which is generally a nonprofit corporation.
But, if there are some where the land itself is ultimately publicly-owned, I bet even they are leased for the duration of a fair to such a nonprofit group, which would mean it would still be handled like private property for the purposes of dictating who and who could not do what on the property.
Again, I don’t know of a single fair that you could go to and do anything you want.
Anyway, I think our individual experiences shape our opinions on these matters. There are a few jerks in our Sheriff's department, but they were jerks before they got their badge. Most of the ones I know are good guys and care about what they do.
There are other places (Durham being on of them) where I would not give two cents for 90% of them. (Things may have changed since the Duke Lacrosse frame- Durham had more than their fair share of bad apples.)
Not to worry, though. Anything other than a traffic violation it is “I need a lawyer” I respect LEO, but the ‘system’ is another animal. :-)
Come to think of it some of them may have been. But if so they could hae used their authority to arrest the Impeach Obama man instead of waiting for police as they did.

Did he yell at security before or after they told him to put down his banner? You seem to know all about it. So share with us.
