Gerson, Rove, Krauthammer, Castle and Murkowski are providing the examples of a elite establishment not willing to hear the voters. Their narcissistic view of power and their entitlement is endangered by the victories of Tea Party-supported candidates.

There must be something really big at stake, bigger than what we can see, or know right now.

Christine threw a cog into the works.

All this uncalled for vitriol is not for nothing.

She kicked the hornet's nest--and I want to know what was in the nest.

What is unfolding before our eyes is NOT normal.

What could be bigger than stopping the Marxists and their statist allies from destroying our Country?

Yes, something is strange about this "protesting." Either they are pulling a Br'er Rabbit and they are trying to keep the Indies' votes in some odd, round-about way (as in the Tea Party is the opposite of Bush) OR they have done some nasty dealings with the Libs/Dems and they do NOT want us to know.

It's sort of creepy.

Your assessment is 100% valid, and well informed IMHO

Something bigger is happening. The role of GOP as a second fiddle enabler for Communist style (as in central concentration of power) is being challenged by Tea Party US Citizens.
Planned consolidation of Federal Power over individual State power is the prize in all of this. Of course, this directly translate into individual freedom and the survival of Our Precious Republic.

I think their center has broken. They have lost control of events. They may also have found that their efforts to suborn the new players have failed.

Their next move may well be closer cooperation with the Democrats, the other ruling class party.

One thing or the other will be purged from the nation in the near future: corrupt and overreaching government, or Constitutional liberty and the rule of law.

We are fighting for our national existence right now, but the enemy is not at the gates. The enemy is the gate keeper.

if they destroy O'Donnell, it stops Palin (in their mind). Most of them will back Bloomberg 3rd party if Palin gets the nomination for Prez.

Just thinking out loud....There is something going on....Line of succession has only two people in it that are not appointed by BO...#2 Speaker of the House #3 President Proten of Senate.

If GOP wins both and the establishment does not have control of the party we the people may actually have a say in who holds those position. (Like Mike Pence as Speaker of House. 2nd in line for POTUS.)

You following me?

Now : When Justice Thomas said they SCOTUS were “being evasive regarding the qualification issue, I believe he was using the second, not common meaning of the word.....Not evading as in evading taxes, but evasive as in studying a complicated issue, an evasive issue.

OTOH The SCOTUS must evade the issue until Jan 2011, since all appointments made by BO would be null and void if he were found to be not qualified, leaving the House and Senate to Impeach and Remove...An action needing a GOP majority in BOTH branches. Rumors of BO not functioning is popping up even from people who were once insiders....Chain smoking, loosing weight etc. obvious. Saying "as long as I'm president" repeatedly

Karl may know in inner working of what is being set up, and it may be why he was upset about the possible loss of a senate seat.

We may indeed be in a fight for out nation!

OTOH They may all just be mysonginist control freaks.

If they’re all really pissed, it shouldn’t be all that hard to figure out why.

Are we allowed to talk about conspiracies?

Look up “dark, undiscovered stain”

Christine lacks the stain.

I’m not saying at all that that’s it.
You asked for “really big”.

Kristol likes Palin.
Kristol attacked Christine.
Palin and Christine are buddies now.
Kristol is a neocon, who may or may not be a Palin advisor.
Palin apparently has as part of her foreign policy the specialness of Israel.
Christine worked for The Passion of the Christ which if you recall was a very controversial movie.

There are gatekeepers, apparently. They knock out people they don’t like. They’re the ones who pick the President, apparently.

And Christine is one they don’t like.

And they realize it’ll happen over and over again.

And if there is a conspiracy they play a role in, these unapproved people can take it right down.

You wanted “really big”. I’m not saying any of that is right. I’m not saying any of that isn’t crazy.

It’s about the Tea Party movement, which is a snowball that keeps rolling and taking out one incumbent after another. The establishment is afraid that it’s going to get out of control and are doing anything they can to stop the momentum.

This is a proxy war, Christine O’Donnell and Delaware just happens to the be field of battle that was picked.

“There must be something really big at stake,....”

IMHO...its called the coming end of the Good Cop-Bad Cop con....the Rinocratic Party ...run by the “Ruling Class” has been operating this con since the 1930s. Probably the longest running play of this con ever.

“She kicked the hornet’s nest...”

That would make her Lisbeth Salander, in which case she will SERIOUSLY kick butt.

Talk about your one nutty chick against the Establishment, oh yeah, they won’t see what’s coming and they won’t like it either!

Some lovely lady recently reminded us that this is a time for choosing. I agree.

There's no middle ground, if there ever really was. It's just that circumstances are forcing off the masks.

I don’t think Christine is much of a candidate. But if all these establishment Republicans are enraged at her then my opinion of her goes up. I have no problem voting for her anyway. She’ll be our Patti Murray. But so what not everyone is a genius like 0bongo and Cass Sunstein (joking)

I think you're on to something. Something like shutting down Foggy Bottom when elections don't go well for the majority incumbents (or RINO lap dogs).

Good points — and I am thinking about this unhinged hysteria from Rove, Gerson, et al in the context of (1) the RINO gatekeepers have had their pre-eminence shaken, and (2) the nexus of “professional” party operatives ala Karl Rove with the commentariat has been marginalized (at least until they try to find a way to re-assert themselves).

There may well be some specific things that were going on around the Castle/Biden issues, how RINOs were going to “hold” the seat until Beau Biden was ready etc. But the overall context is one in which COD and other Tea Party successes sends the message that “we the people” don’t need or want business-as-usual from the Rove-Gerson-Krauthammer establishment. They are even more threatened by these developments than are Democrats who can adjust to the challenge.

My guess is on the healthcare socialization project. Had to have all the communists in office to get the healthcare fubar passed. Then they wanted moderate republicans to take over to make the mess more palatable but not to get rid of it altogether. But I’m only guessing. Too many patriotic Americans in office will throw a wrench in their plans because patriotic Americans believe in the rights of people to choose their own destiny rather than the right of the government to choose our destiny.
