Good points — and I am thinking about this unhinged hysteria from Rove, Gerson, et al in the context of (1) the RINO gatekeepers have had their pre-eminence shaken, and (2) the nexus of “professional” party operatives ala Karl Rove with the commentariat has been marginalized (at least until they try to find a way to re-assert themselves).
There may well be some specific things that were going on around the Castle/Biden issues, how RINOs were going to “hold” the seat until Beau Biden was ready etc. But the overall context is one in which COD and other Tea Party successes sends the message that “we the people” don’t need or want business-as-usual from the Rove-Gerson-Krauthammer establishment. They are even more threatened by these developments than are Democrats who can adjust to the challenge.
The Dems aren’t having their party ripped from their hands so they aren’t upset. When they lose everything except 1 New York and Hawaii, they’ll be upset then.
Good observations. Thanks.
