September 18, 2010 (HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.) (WLS) -- Thousands of conservatives and Tea Party supporters gathered for a rally in the suburbs Saturday.
The Sears Center in Hoffman Estates was host to "Right Nation 2010." The headline speaker was cable news commentator Glenn Beck.
Also on the speakers list was Republican nominee for Illinois governor and State Sen. Bill Brady.
There had originally been reports that Brady would skip the event. Republican Senate candidate Mark Kirk was not attending.
Saturday's gathering comes just days after Tea Party-supported candidates won primary elections in several states. Approximately 5,500 people purchased tickets for Saturday's event, with prices ranging from $67 to $1,200. Many said they attended as a prelude to the November elections.
Conservatives, libertarians, and Tea Party independents arrived at Saturday's rally by the thousands, all passionate supporters of talk show host Glenn Beck.
"I believe what he says, and he says what he believes. I'm a big fan of his. The country is going in the wrong direction, in my opinion," said Cal Starr, Right Nation 2010 attendee.
Beck's keynote address Saturday comes fresh off his rally in Washington last month.
Republican Gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady's appearance was criticized Saturday by his Democratic opponent, Gov. Pat Quinn.
"I'm not a big fan of Glenn Beck. I believe in folks who put people together, and I think that's what I've done as governor of Illinois," Quinn said.
Although Republican Senate candidate Mark Kirk did not attend, Libertarian opponent Mike Labno did.
"He's not a conservative. He's not a Republican. He's not a Libertarian. He's none of those, and that's what this event is bringing in, is that type of a crowd. Why should he be here?" Labno said.

Nice! Right in Obastard’s back yard, no less.
Stay out of my Neighbor! LOL
You mean Bill Brady who’s voting record on illegal immigration issues as the MOST Liberal Democrat in our general Assembly?
He has NO Opinoin on Arizona Law. A Leader people call him?
We deserve to lose!
B-----t, Chicagolady! Your entire smear "proving" Brady is "identical" to John Cullerton is based on a whooping THREE votes where they took the same position, out of dozens of other immigration bills they've voted on over the past decade. Go to any anti-Brady site claiming Brady is "identical to Cullerton" and they endlessly repeat the same three votes. I guess all the other times Brady voted AGAINST the Democrats on immigration don't count? We'll just ignore the parts of his voting record on immigration that don't fit your "liberal Democrat" smear
You supported "true conservative" Adam Andrejewski for Governor, who is now promoting Bob Enriquez. Since you're said you regret your support for Adam, who would you have voted for instead? Please free free to let us who which Republican is acceptable in your eyes.
I will note that the ONLY Illinois State Senator with a 100% PERFECT anti-illegal immigration record, Chris Lauzen, was OPPOSED by Chicagolady when he ran for Congress. A State Senator finally does EXACTLY what you want on illegal immigration over 16 years and you work to DEFEAT him when he runs for higher office! Way to go!
>> He has NO Opinoin on Arizona Law. <<
A candidate for Governor of Illinois should weigh-in on Arizona's laws and tell them what to do? No doubt the "states rights" freepers would disagree with you on that one. I doubt you'd like it if Jan Brewer gave her opinions on Illinois laws. But for the record, Brady slammed the Highland Park School's Decision to have their team boycott Arizona. No doubt you missed that one since Brady would have welcomed the boycott if he was for "open borders"
On a final note, just out of curiousity Chicagolady, how much money did Jim Oberweis donate to your campaign for Congress this time around, after you spent years working your butt off to promote HIS campaigns?
60657 is Lakeview... aka “Boy’s Town”, home to such local attractions as the “Manhole”, the “Alternative Shopping Complex” and the “Pride Parade”. Oh yeah, Wrigley Field is there also, so you might find a few conservatives there on game days.
BOYS TOWN???? OMG!!
