Sidney Reilly, nicknamed the 'Ace of Spies,'
planned to kill the whole of the Soviet leadership
during a meeting at the Bolshoi Theatre in 1918
An MI6 agent became a serial killer as he used pretty young women to lure Russians to their deaths with the promise of sex, new documents reveal.
A Cossack colonel called Mohammed Bek Hadji Lashet, and his gang used the women to attract communists to a lakeside villa where they were tortured and then killed, according to a new history of the intelligence service.
The book, Six, by former military intelligence officer Michael Smith, reveals that there was a culture of assassinations within the Secret Intelligence Service, also known as MI6, during the First World War.
Despite the fictional licence to kill of James Bond, the agency protests that it does not kill off those it considers a threat.
But the book reveals that in its early days, MI6 officers and their adversaries were more than willing to spill blood for their country.
One officer, Jack Lawson, an Oxford Don based in Crete, wrote: Thou shalt not kill does not veto the extermination of the enemy. More:

Another book, this one M15 from the 1960s, 'tells real-life James Bonds how to spot Soviet spies'
The 59-page booklet, titled Their Trade Is Treachery, was drawn up by the security services in the 1963, a year after the so-called Profumo affair.
Among the chapters in the book, include How to foil a spy, How to become a spy (in six easy lessons) and How not to become a spy (in six not-so-easy lessons).
John Profumo, the Secretary of State for War, resigned in 1963 when it was disclosed that he had an affair with Christine Keeler, a call girl who was said to be a the mistress of a Russian spy.
"See him in the House of Commons / Making laws to put the blame / While the object of his passion / Walks the streets to hide her shame." |
The "object of his [Profumo's] passion" was a young woman whose name is now embedded in British political folklore: Christine Keeler.
Around 1963 MI5 decided they had to try to warn all the people who might come into contact with Russians what they were up to in the way of trying to recruit them.
There was money and sexual blackmail. They would set them up in a room with cameras.."
Seems to almost never fail, political leaders still risk everything when sex comes into play. The dominance, the power and appetite for sex.
Spies, as in James Bond, lived like there was no tomorrow.
In an escape from his first marriage, Arthur Ransome traveled to St Petersburg, where he was ideally placed to observe and report on the Russian Revolution. He knew many of the leading Bolsheviks, including Lenin, Radek, Trotsky and the latter's secretary, Evgenia Shvelpina. These contacts led to persistent but unproven accusations that he "spied" for both the Bolsheviks and Britain.
This is a good reason why the Clinton affair was not just “about sex”. A man like that, especially with his Marxist sympathies, would not have been hard to extort into carrying water for the enemies our country.
007 had to be moved to a different position because he kept ((#@(@#( the bait. He would be awful fishing because he would eat the worms instead of using them to catch fish.
I always said that as well..but then the Left thought it all quite innocent really.
Then there was the famous female spy Mata Hari - who was said to have taken exotic stripping to an art form. She was shot by the French for being a spy, but her main accuser was a German spy.
Their Trade Is Treachery,
Great book written in 1976 or so by Pincher, using this title also;
exposes huge amounts of communist infiltration into the political classes
About 70 Members of Parliament were revealed to be Communist Party UK members, open or secret.
Kinda like our list of 80 or so Socialists of America members all open ?!?!
“Reilly: Ace of Spies” is one of our favorite Masterpiece Theater series! That’s where we first saw Sam Neill, and we have enjoyed his acting ever since.
It would have been a great thing for the world if the whole Bolshevik leadership had been killed off in that era!
“One MI6 officer, Lt Stephen Alley, was apparently sacked when he refused to assassinate Joseph Stalin, according to passages in his unpublished memoirs.”
He should have followed the instructions. However, according to this, http://www.amazon.com/MURDER-ROMANOVS-Andrew-Cook/dp/1848681038 he was a Major.

Pincher has a new “Treachery”, 2009. FOIA (US & Britain) has opened lots of info. Good read
An MI6 agent became a serial killer as he used pretty young women to lure Russians to their deaths with the promise of sexThe Bolshevik leaders -- in particular Lenin and Trotsky, boasting of having killed twenty million fellow citizens -- became mass murderers because they wanted to, and used whatever means were around to accomplish it.
Bribery works as well as extortion . Clinton and Gore were bought and paid for by boatloads of Chinese money.
The security of our labs IMHO have never recovered.
The most advanced civilization on earth are buying rides into space from the Russians.
I did some research and found Captain and Lt. and just SIS officer. I did not find the Major under just the name. One can change ranks.
Sure, but when he was sacked he probably had the higher rank and not Lt.
