Krauthammer to DeMint and Palin: Go down to Delaware and prove that O’Donnell is electable
Hotair ^ | 09/17/2010 | Allahpundit

Posted on 09/17/2010 8:38:57 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

No sense in letting Rove take all the abuse today among traitorous Beltway RINOs who’ve allegedly never done a thing for “true conservative.” Let’s get Krauthammer into the game. This is actually a useful follow-up to the last post insofar as it’s yet another opportunity to show how Palin implicitly (and wisely) questions the dogma that right-wing candidates can win anywhere, any time, in any circumstances. Krauthammer dares her to go to Delaware to spearhead the O’Donnell campaign. Doubtless many Sarahcuda fans will say “great idea!” but Palin herself knows better:

Palin’s comments came after the last major primary night before the November midterm elections. Palin-endorsed candidate Christine O’Donnell stole the spotlight by defeating nine-term Rep. Mike Castle in the Delaware GOP Senate primary.

But the 2008 vice presidential nominee said that her involvement in races might not always benefit the candidates she endorses.

“I’ll do whatever I can. I want to help, though, and not hurt,” she told Fox News. “And, you know, sometimes it’s a double-edged sword there if my name is connected to anybody.”

Translation: Knowing how much Democrats hate Palin, it’d be silly to hand them a club in a state as blue as Delaware by appearing there frequently. If anything, it’d probably do more to alienate pro-Castle fencesitters, who likely blame her for Castle’s defeat, than to fire up Christine supporters who are already fired up. Krauthammer knows that, of course, but he’s making a point here about true belief in “true conservative.” If demographics don’t matter and it’s just a matter of preaching the right-wing gospel to convert the liberal heathens, let’s send our best preachers down there and let it rip. What could go wrong?

Plagiarizing myself:

Obviously, the concept of ‘electable’ has undergone a dramatic change.
Don’t believe me? Look who’s in the WH.

The DNC beat Conservatives to the punch with THEIR understanding on this new dimension of ‘electable’. Liberals knew what this meant and ran with it. They did an end run on not only the RNC, but the entire country and political system.

Once again (or should I say ‘still’) will Conservatives let the Liberals get around them? There has been a sea change among American voters.

Generations brought up on Laverne and Shirley re-runs (and worse) cannot be expected to comprehend the difference between Ronald Reagan and “O” or to appreciate the stodgy notions Conservatives have about who CAN or CANNOT win votes!!!!!

He doesn’t like skirts.

I agree. Old Charles has a real problem letting women in the ole boys club. I've noticed this for years.

Charles, the "I know it all" should be a bit more self-aware before he speaks of women candidates.

Kraut needs to go to DE and prove that she can’t.

He's doing that nicely from Washington...in fact, he is doing all that he can to insure she is defeated. Very big dissapointment.

Hee hee... these elections have me jazzed.

I like to think I helped Paladino generate some turnout Tuesday so I intend to try to continue.

I was all over the place with signs and blogging and even my kids got into the action.

If not now, then when? It’s too late after the socialists get 100% control.

The Establishment does NOT get what the Tea Party is.

Sure they do!

If they didn't get it, they wouldn't be having their childish tantrums and panic attacks - Which is exactly what Rove and Krauthammer are experiencing.

Krauthammer is a smart guy, but he, like many others have been in DC way too long. He is also an elitist and frankly, he does not get it yet. He might, but right now the RINOs, Republican establishment and the alleged conservatives inside the beltway are clueless.

There is a huge wave coming at them, and non of them really see it yet, it’s not something they have the ability to analyze or understand.

Charles has been ON FIRE these last few months with criticizm of Obambi...

I think this behavior from him and Rove is only helping O’donnel right now. You can’t buy this kind of exposure.

And Reid calling Coons his ‘pet’ (twice!!!) must have sent Coons campaign into coniptions. I am thinkign like bill Cosby’s descrption of seeing someone actually having a ‘coniption fit’

2.) They're not as smart as they think they are.

The GOP establishment mouthpieces have been hanging around DC too long to understand the grassroot Tea Party movement. They'd rather make small gains back to a Rep majority, even if those Repubs are not conservative. The Tea Party movement and others realize this will not be enough to repair the damage that has been done, especially under the obama/pelosi/reid term.

The GOP establishment is quite risk-aversive. The times call for taking risks to improve the odds that conservatives will have more influence in govt. This country is in trouble.

Nah, if they “got it” they would already be on board with it. They would have been welcomed with open arms even a week ago. All they had to do was recognize what the Tea Party is.

It is the Citizen class vs. the Government class.

If they had gotten it, they would have joined it. But they don’t see it for what it is. They don’t get it, and so now they are beginning to fear it. You are totally right, they are beginning to panic, and it is showing.

Point taken. If all publicity is good then Christine got a few millions worth from Kraut and Rove.

Krauthammer should go to christine2010.com and ponder the fund raising results; how the goal started modestly and then got moved by orders of magnitude to where it is today - 103% of a $1.5MM goal (soon to be raised agian, I think).

Krauthammer should recognize his shame and then STFU.

I think alot of these establishment types are Romneybots. Perhaps ‘enemies’ is a bit too harsh..but calling them self serving rinos is not a stretch. Rinos in our party are enemies in the sense that they don’t care what we think or want..they just need us to vote for them. They think we are all rubes and stupid ‘right wingers’. But this is no time to give them any quarter..conservatism is the only thing that is going to save this country. Fiscal conservatism by itself isn’t enough to slice through all the bureaucracies and public sector labor unions. Rinos don’t have the fortitude to do what is going to have to be done across every sector of government in order to save this country from out of control government.

Too many people in Bush’s administration listened to these same pundits and players...look where it got us.

Thanks for the ping.

I have a crackpot theory that “Allahpundit” is actually Charles Krauthammer blogging incognito to try to influence the younger, ‘hipper’ conservative crowd... ;-)

I mean, practically every other person blogs under his or her real name...why the ultra-secrecy with this guy?

Anytime ‘Allahpundit’ gets in a logical jam, who does he refer to? Krauthammer of course (as if the mere mention of his name is supposed to end the debate).

And has anybody ever seen the two of them in the same room...?
