If MD elects Lollar and Harris for Congress, that would be a blessing for America.
And, I would have to believe Hell is freezing over.
When I lived in Montgomery County in the 80’s, I never saw a bigger collection of leftists!

Its the 5th district and that consist of Charles Co., St. Mary’s Co. and the southern part of P.G. County. Mostly rural. I think he has a very good chance.

I’ve always been surprised that that are would elect someone like Hoyer. It doesn’t seem like any of the other MD burbs (translation, it looks a decent place to live). I wonder how the recent influx of commuting DC workers to the area (down rt 4, especially) has changed the political makeup. I assume its pushed it a little further left, but would appreciate any info from anyone familiar with that area.

Hoyer has been in for a long time. I live in the 2nd district (Balt. Co.) and had a father-in-law that retired and moved to St.Mary’s county in 1984. At that time the county was very rural and no one could join anything, even a club, unless they were Democrat.
I think that goes back to the Civil War when that area was mostly Confederate. Now the rats are Socialist. Maybe the people there are finally waking up. It looks like it to me.
We have a little weekend get-away down there.

Watch out for the bull sharks.
Thanks for the explanation. There is reason for optimism, then.

If you see how it is Gerrymandered, it's pretty obvious how Hoyer always wins. Note that includes Upper Marlboro (teacher's union) and College Park (U of Md). In addition, there has been a lot of "black flight" from DC and the inside-the-beltway parts of Southern PG County (Elijah Cummins' district) into Charles County (in large part as a result of the easy mortgages available from Fannie/Freddie)
