It’s a Blue State though. For the Repubs to have won it they would had to have the Democratic Republican be their candidate. even then, the guy would be an unreliable vote and would have been akin to adding another Snowe or Collins to the party.

In Castle's case, Rove seems convinced that his easy win guaranteed to break the 50 vote majority, ejecting all the Leftist committee chairs.
Castle was a known (weak) commodity. Brown seemed to be a reasonably straightforward known commodity.
If O'Donnell doesn't win and we don't kick out the dem chairs, well that's not all bad...but I can also see quite a few of the million-dollar contributors setting themselves up for disappointment even if she wins and some of this stuff about her turns out to be, "you knew about that when you contributed."

If the people are unhappy with Obama in a state like Delaware, Republicans can win.
People who are unhappy with Obama will vote for O’Donnell.

Right now, based on the Obama numbers from Rasmussen, Christine needs to find between 5-10% who support Obama. They could be young women who like Christine’s style, and admire her like they admire Palin. They could be men who think she’s hot. It could be elderly Catholics who like Christine’s values. She could get votes on values but she won’t lose antiObama votes on values.

It's all due to the McCain-Feingold law in particular, and "campaign finance reform" legislation generally.
All of which is strictly unconstitutional when you consider that "freedom of speech, or of the press" is a right of the people, and not merely of the specific subset of the people who happen to own a printing press at the moment.And that since the Constitution explicitly contemplates "progress of science and useful arts," and since the mission statement of the Constitution is "to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity," empowering the government to make laws restricting our modalities of communication should require a constitutional amendment.
We should be trying to design a conservative means of modifying the composition of SCOTUS via constitutional amendment so that such infringements as McCain-Feingold would stand no chance of passing muster.
Yes, they have announced they will support her, whether they mean it and actually help her, or pay lip service but stand on the sidelines (or work against her secretly), remains to be seen.

If we attack President Obama for putting people who can't pay their taxes into his Administration, how can we defend a Republican candidate who doesn't pay her taxes, her college bills, or her mortgage; has had no visible means of support; and sued a reputable conservative organization claiming she was the victim of sex discrimination? She didn't win the lawsuit: her employer said she was fired for trying to run her own pr consulting firm out of their offices while on their clock. We conservatives want conservative candidates, but we do our cause little good by nominating conservatives with serious questions about their fitness and character.

On that show, you're backtracking big time, spouting pap about your role as Fox contributor vs.. your job as advisor to the Republican Party. How you've helped fund various Tea Party candidates, including Christine O'Donnell, and how much respect you have for the Tea Party. Yet your email to me is just another vicious attack on Ms O'Donnell and her upset win over a left-leaning Republican. White Man Speak with Forked Tongue.
Let me explain something to you. Americans of all walks of life are fed up with the inside-of-the-beltway mentality, and the elitists who have controlled the Republican Party for decades. Her site shows the goals, $200,000, $350,000, $500,000, $750,000, $1,000,000, and $1,250,000, 86% of the way there.
If we were getting a candidate snapshot on the RNC site it would probably show, $1,250,000, $750,000, $500,000, $350,000, $200,000, $50,000, and $10,000, 16% of the way there.
I wonder if the brain-trusts over at RNC central get the message. If so, we should hear a big scream tomorrow morning and look up to see an aging black guy landing on his ass on the sidewalk out front of the RNC building. A host of white folks should be out there on theirs with him before the dust settles.
We want some sanity at the RNC boys. We don't get it, and you're toast.
Great! The more I learn about this lady the more I admire her. It is appalling, though not surprising, how she is now being maligned and smeared - by Democrats and Republicans alike. She’s to be applauded if only for being willing to put herself in a position that opens her to their attacks. She’s handling it with grace and poise.
Am only familiar with rules in Texas and one other state. There are a few grey areas but in general, candidate needs to avoid like the plague anything that smaks of vote or influence buying (unless you are Obama) or possible solicitation as a reward for prior or future favors - monetary or non-monetary. Texas has no problem with assessing and collecting large fines against the person who completes the paperwork.
They changed it to 1.25 mil. - now at 87% of that.
