Politico is quoting an astonishing account by retiring Arkansas Congressman Marion Berry about a meeting he had recently with President Barack Obama. The subject of whether the 2010 midterms were going to be a repeat of 1994 came up.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette account, quoted in the Politico, said about President Obama's view on 2010 vs. 1994, "The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, 'Well, the big difference here and in '94 was you've got me.'"

Perhaps the only thing that will teach him humility is a failure so immense that he cannot possibly explain it away by blaming it on others or on circumstance. Ain't no such thing.

'Well, the big difference here and in '94 was you've got you're stuck with me.'
To: earlJam
Yes they do.
Just think. If they had Obama in ‘94, there might have been a 100 seat swing in the house and 20+ pick up in the Senate.

Not for long. If things go right, impeachment is just around the corner. Start packing.

Re-read the title of this thread as if Obama is stumped by the question and can’t think of an answer. That’s how I read it initially.

I don't want impeachment even though I believe he should be brought up on charges. I WANT THE GOP TO TIE HIM UP FOR THE NEXT TWO YEARS WITH INVESTIGATIONS ON EVERYTHING HE HAS DONE DESTROYIG AMERICA.
Impeachment will just make the GOP a more hated group - just disable his ability to "LEAD" - /sarc

The Baraqqi Coalition (by now I think we know who they are) will indeed remain loyal to Baraq no matter what.
The problem for Dems is that they won’t be nearly the factor in the 2010 elections that they were in 2008.
To: RC2
‘bammy’s got this impenetrable “impeachment shield” with the letters “First Black President” written on it.
Now, there are other ways, like actually demanding that he provide documentation of his eligibility for the presidency. That’s not impeachment, per se, but it might lead to the ‘rats demanding his resignation.

That’s impossible. He can’t provide what he doesn’t have.

If things go right, impeachment is just around the corner. That will never happen, even if the Republicans have two-thirds majorities in both the House and Senate, which they obviously won't.
As much as I would love to see it, the political reality is that the backlash would be very bad news for Republicans, and would actually stop the momentum towards a more conservative agenda.

Typical, preening, self-centered Obama narcissism on display. He genuinely thinks that when he reads some promises from the ObamaPrompter, the Gods will somehow make it happen.
For He is The One. At least until 2012, when the nation tells him to GTFO.

I think it hugely unlikely that Obama will be impeached, but...
If he were to be, it more likely would come from his own party and likely regarding his eligibility to office. If the Dems were to decide he has to go to save themselves, suddenly his place of birth and citizenship status would be “unexpectedly” discovered. If it were shown he wasn't eligible, impeachment would have to follow.
