I think this is the first time I’ve seen Kasich at 50%. It’s a good sign for a challenger to be at 50%.
To: conservativebuckeye
Strickland looked desparate, uncomfortable and petty last night in the debate.
He’s toast.
To: conservativebuckeye
His campaign so far has been about a positive vision. While Strickland’s are all about demonizing Kasich.
Ted ran on jobs, jobs, jobs when the unemployment rate was 5%. He did not choose wisely.

That’s what I came away with. If I had a dollar for every time he mentioned Wall Street, I could at least buy a decent used car at the worst. He had the nerve to say Kasich could be impulsive at times. After last week’s video, Ted lost the right to call anyone impulsive.

Good news. The Undecideds are starting to firm up. If we can split the remaining Undecideds, that should put us comfortably over 50%.
I've known John Kasich since his days in the Ohio Senate when he beat an entrenched 'Rat for his first political office. He's got the smarts to make a difference in this state. Hopefully, we can win back the Ohio House and the down ticket offices we lost in '06. Redistricting is looming, and it would be nice to have the good guys in charge of things.

Modest lead? Wouldn’t be a ‘commanding lead’ if the parties were reversed?

The bottom line is that Strickland can’t run on his own record. Strickland’s schtick last night consisted of blame Wall St. and hey, I can be somewhat conservative too.
To: conservativebuckeye
He also looked like an idiot trying to defend that boondoggle 39 mph 3C passenger train.
Kasich is interested in creating jobs, Strickland is all about retaining the governor’s office.
To: conservativebuckeye
Yes but Kasich has had larger leads than 7% on Rass.

I swore I’d never watch another debate after what the stations did to Ken Blackwell.
During their analysis (Channel 7 & 2 -Dayton) they proclaimed Ken Blackwell an ‘angry black man’. hint, hint It was as if they had gotten talking points from the Democrats.

All these polls are turning out to be 3 to 5 points light for the Republicans. A lot of Reagan Democrats are voting Republican.

Ohio needs Kasich. WE must be vigilant though during the election since Jennifer Brunner tried vigorously manipulate votes in ‘08.

Folks,
This lead will exapand to double digits before the election. The things are turning out so bad for democrats. I would not be surprised if he wins by a margin of 15 or 16%

I will be happy with a 52-48 margin. The 'rats will have Big Dog out here firing up the blacks' turnout, and obama jerking off the union thugs like he has already. However weak Strickland is, Don't even think the 'rats will concede Ohio in a redistricting election, especially when one or two seats are going to leave the state. If GOP sweeps the state offices, those disappearing house seats will be incumbent 'rats.

"Republican John Kasich continues to hold a modest lead over incumbent Democrat Ted Strickland"LOL
Typical state-run-media headline...."50%-43%=Modest Lead".
If it were a Democrat with the lead, it would be "tremendous advantage" or "insurmoutable lead"....
LOL

And THIS is all happening in a Blue State.

Ohio isn’t a blue state. It’s the definitive purple state.

Well 7 is owned by Cox same folks who own the Dayton Daily News so that's no surprise and 2 news is always on your side if your a democrat.
I'm waiting for the merger of channel 7,Whio radio, and the Dayton Daily News under one roof when they use the same people in all the media outlets. I'm sure that the Mary McCarty commentary on tv will just rake in the viewers just like it has readers in the paper. It was funny how all the local media was behind mayor Round Eye Square Eye in last year's election and after the election they were all concerned and fretting about her needing a job since she lost hers mostly because the folks at NCR lost theirs! She and the local media had no clue they were leaving town until it was a done deal! Maybe Ellen Belcher could report on courthouse corruption I hear she has an inside source!
