MSNBC: The purge inside the GOP
pMSNBC.com ^ | September 15, 2010 | NBC's Chuck Todd, Mark Murray, and Domenico Montanaro, and Ali Weinberg

It’s simple: We’re witnessing a purge within the Republican Party.

Yet it’s important to understand that this purge isn’t out of the ordinary. It’s what political parties do after they lose.

The happiest people today are the beleaguered folks in the West Wing. The intra-party spat inside the GOP means the White House gets a few days out of the spotlight, something it desperately needed.

This is a purge -- not just based on ideology, but also against those who are part of the establishment. Outsiders won up and down the ballot last night.

Yeah, sure. Any time a Dems says folks should vote for one of two Republicans in a primary, it means they actually fear the other one more.

The term they dare not use in the article, lest they find it necessary to define for their readers....is “RINO”.

LOL. What spin. F Chuck Todd...

We voted out the candidate most aligned with Obama. And it was a thumping!

I’m sure they’re real excited in the White House.

It appears the battle lines are drawn.

On one side, are Democrats and Republicans.

On the other side, is the Tea Party -- the American people.

The Tea Party Tsunami.

Doing what Nancy Pelosi failed to do. Doing what Harry Reid failed to do.
