U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday he wants to attach an amendment to a defense policy bill that would help young people in the United States illegally become legal U.S. residents.
The Nevada Democrat said at a Capitol news conference that the legislation known as the DREAM Act is long overdue. He would not say whether he has the votes for the amendment. The act would allow young people who attend college or join the military to become legal U.S. residents.
The young people must have come to the country when they were under 16 years of age and have been in the country five years. Those who join the military must serve at least two years and complete two years of college.

No. You don’t use our education system to gain citizenship. The cost of educating illegals will probably be passed to the taxpayer anyway.
I wouldn’t mind if illegal aliens that served in the Armed Forces were granted citizenship — if they serve a 4 year enlistment. Most of the Latinos that join the military are staunchly conservative; these are the caliber of citizen that we want to attract.
Imagine if we had people sneaking into the U.S. so that they could fight for our country!
People like you frighten me. Not only is that far-fetched idealism, but what do you think will happen with a massive wave of service members from a pool of people who are notorious for not assimilating? They will start making demands, and the next thing you will know, the only way white americans can get promoted is if they are bilingual. And so on and so on. We need to produce enough of our own people who want to "fight" for country.
The Romans tried that with the Goths. Didn't end well.

You are correct it would never happen. Those not wanting to assimilate would not join the Armed Forces. Those that do not want to assimilate only come here to pillage this country’s wealth and send it elsewhere.
Don’t think for a second that I actually believed illegals coming across the border would be doing it to fight for the U.S. As you stated, it far-fetched; however, the latinos that I did serve with in the Marines are conservative and completely loyal to this country, not Mexico. I wouldn’t mind having more people like them.

The "American" Bar Association's new president, Stephen N. Zack, will announce a new direction for US law.
Zack intends to hold public hearings across the country to “study” whether the US legal system is “addressing the needs of Hispanics.”
What's next Zack----imposing Sharia Law on Americans?
The ABA is no longer concerned with “US law.” They Are Peddling Race Instead of Law. The ABA is poised to segregate Americans into classes each with their own “laws.”
According to the ABA, we now have “Hispanic law,” “African American law,” "Sharia Law," “Gay Law.” ………………… maybe a little “White law” thrown in here and there. Maybe “non-human law” is next? In case your dog might want to sue someone.
The reason we have “Hispanic law”? Because Stephen N. Zack the new president of the ABA is a Cuban-lawyer from Miami, Florida. Can you say conflict of interest?

I served with folks that gained their citi..enship while serving but I believe a green card and background check was still required. Are they saying this isn’t working....(This was many moons ago Btw)
