The Tea Party Express issued the following statement in response to preliminary reports that the National Republican Senatorial Committee would not support their own nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware:
"The National Republican Senatorial Committee has reportedly said they will not support their own nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware. This is a rash statement that hopefully they will reconsider once good judgment sets in.
"The NRSC tried to meddle in the vote recount for liberal Republican Lisa Murkowski in Alaska. Now they say they aren't committed to supporting their own nominee in Delaware? When will this insanity stop?
"We encourage the NRSC to take a night off, get some sleep, and reconsider their rash statements. It is because of inexcusable conduct in Delaware and Alaska that so many conservatives have turned to the Tea Party Express, offering their support and their donations. These people have lost faith in the NRSC as just another big-government, Washington, D.C.-based organization that has contributed to the problems this country currently faces.
"If the NRSC is committed to defeating Democrats in November, then it is time for them to honor their mission statement and do just that. If they fail to do so, then they can expect millions of conservatives to continue to steer their donations and volunteer hours elsewhere.
"Wake up NRSC, the reason the tea party movement has grown into such a powerful force is because of the failures of establishment organizations such as yours to honor the principles of the Republican Party platform. You tried to force through the most liberal Republican in Congress on the voters of Delaware and they rejected you. Wake up, you are defying your own base, and will end up an irrelevant and impotent organization that serves to only amuse the corrupt political establishment in Washington, D.C.
"The Tea Party Express will back Christine O'Donnell in the general election along with every other candidate we've endorsed. We trust adults at the NRSC will come to their senses and realize that the people have spoken, and it's time for the NRSC to represent the Republicans it is supposed to represent."
Some of the less-informed-than-they-imagine can’t tell the NRSC from the RNC.
The TEA Party should begin looking for a stellar candidate to challenge John Cornyn, head of the NRSC, the next time he runs in TX. His conduct this primary season has been a big disappointment to Texas conservatives.
AFAIK, Steele has said nothing. The statement came from the NRSC. Some people dont understand that the NRSC is different from the RNC.
One one hand, I myself haven’t seen any original source for this NRSC statement; on the other hand, their website has results from the Wisconsin primary but absolutely no information on the (earlier by an hour) Delaware primary.
I think it is high time that we all take our money elsewhere. If they lose enough funding, they will almost be forced to change leadership/policy. Of course, at this point in time, I don’t know what it would take before they get anymore money out of me.
The NRSC had better get with the program of defeating the Marxists that have control of our government and forget about the entitlement Repubs, the Tea Party Express !
My wife has worked as a paid staffer for two congressional campaigns and a full-time volunteer for another. She has spend hundreds of hours and walked many miles going door to door to support such Party leaders as GW Bush
But the Republican Party has “left us.” Michael Steele is a Trojan Horse, and will do more to empower Obama than perhaps any man in the Democrat Party over the next two years if we let Steele continue in his seat. Because of that the Republican Party will no longer receive financial support from me.
But now that O'Donnell has won I know where I can send some of the cash the Republican Party would have received had they held to their principles.
the Tea Party Express Rocks!
Cornyn is just upset that O’Donnell has scuttled his plans to preemptively surrender the election by supporting a democratic mole.
6 weeks to get the independents and Reagan Democrats on board.
Good point! Everyone must do their part in every way possible.
They need a big comeuppance!
On their Facebook page they take down comments as fast as they are posted if they are pro O’Donnell or pro Palin.
.
Michael Steal has already proved himself to be a POS.
He should have resigned, but instead, he defiantly went rogue. He has been an entrenched enemy within the GOP for some time now.
Time to see what can be done to defund the NRSC.
Send them no money. Donate to individual, conservative candidates.
Write them a check for $500.00. Void the check with a large RED magic marker. Put it in an envelope, along with a tea bag, and mail it to them.
I realy like that!
Michael Steele - National GOP Chief
WHY in the h#*l aren't you doing what
Glenn Beck's been doing on TV?
Or don't you have the guts?
It’s appalling absolutely appalling. I sent Cornyn a blistering email over the AK fiasco. These people have got to go because even with our people in they will be conspiring to undermine them at every turn.
I just “liked” the Senate Conservatives Fund on Facebook. I suggest everyone does the same.
“The Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) is a political action committee dedicated to electing strong conservatives to the U.S. Senate. SCF backs underdog candidates who are overlooked or even opposed by the Washington establishment. Besides Christine ODonnell, SCF is also backing Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania, Marco Rubio in Florida, Ken Buck in Colorado, Rand Paul in Kentucky, Mike Lee in Utah, Sharron Angle in Nevada, Ron Johnson in Wisconsin, Dino Rossi in Washington, Joe Miller in Alaska, and Ovide Lamontagne in New Hampshire”.
RNSC is commiting political suicide. I wonder if they ever figure that out?
