Charles Rangel, with all the ethics charges against him, easily defeated his main challenger Adam Clayton Powell IV by a wide margin for 52% to 24% with over 70% precincts reporting.
Let's face it folks, Rangel will be there to torment this nation for as long as he wants to. Nothing, short of being caught murdering someone live will endanger his seat.
It is a shame.
Tax evasion to owning 4 rent controlled apartments. Rent control was supposed to help the working class. Obviously Rangel never gave a damn.
Well, the vote was split up among a number of people

corrupt state can easily support a corrupt person. What goes around....... he will pay...
I’m not even sure about that last part...depends on whom he was caught murdering.
I said it a million times when Rangel was being spotlighted for his corruption: he’s from a black district (Harlem) and has a constituency who, not only couldn’t care less about his corruption, but probably admire it. He’ll continue to be elected as long as he wants the seat.
Charlie will leave when he wants to or they carry him out in a body bag.
Just amazes me that the most evil people in the world seem to live the longest (Rangel, Castro and Byrd being good examples).
Ice pick
The soft bigotry of lowered expectations; indefensible support of this hoodlum is embarrassing to any American (but then again even Marion Barry returned to office). Wonder what these 2 have...never mind.
Representing Harlem is like representing Zimbabwe, and is a proper reflection of both cesspools.
Compare the dimoKKKRAT elections with the Republican/Tea Party tonight. dimoKKKRATS are re-electing the same old trash. Republicans/Tea Party are electing new blood and out with the ruling class.
Let’s face facts...being corrupt is a bonus to liberals.
It’ll be more fun watching him getting thrown out of office than watching him lose an election. When Conservatives take over Congress and proceed with ethics violations, maybe his next term will be served in prison!
I doubt that even that would endanger his seat. To fully understand this phenomenon it would be necessary to take a look at his supporters and their demographics.
Goodness gracious! I’d sure hate for those two to be my only choices!
He’ll be reelected handily because the people who will vote for him not only don’t care that he’s corrupt, they think it’s a positive character trait.

The democratic party, the party of corruption.
