WILMINGTON, Del. – Conservative activist Christine O'Donnell earned a stunning victory in Delaware's Republican Senate primary Tuesday, riding a wave of tea party anger and advertising dollars to oust U.S. Rep. Michael Castle.

O'Donnell's shocking win gave new energy to the tea party movement, which targeted Castle after victories by Republican tea party candidates in the Alaska and Nevada Senate primaries.

With 78 percent of precincts reporting, O'Donnell had 54 percent to 46 percent for Castle, a former two-term governor and the longest serving congressman in Delaware history.

I guess Castle was well liked in Washington. He must have been a member of all the right clubs and been in the very best social set. Rove and Perino are just upset because somebody from the club wound up without a seat when the music stopped, and they are lashing out.

Listen up, Rove. If it happens to Mike Castle, it could happen to any of you. Time to get right with the base.

It's not like I wouldn't vote for her if I lived in Delaware, it's just that she is a fatally flawed candidate with too many skeletons/baggage to win in a deep blue state. Brown was a fantastic candidate, O'Donnell is not.

Okay, I've not paid that much attention to the trashing O'Donnell has gotten regarding her background. Please elaborate on what is so awful that makes her so "fatally flawed".

that is all he was pointing out.

Oh My Goodness... were you watching the same show???? He was absolutely *TRASHING* her - after he knew she had just won!! What kind of "strategy" is that? He repeated almost every single smear that has been used by her opponenents.... he brought up everything and even argued with Sean (who knows her) about the veracity of her explanations to the attacks. He was despicable!

"If Brown won in Mass, Christine can win in DE."

Brown won in MA because people were sick of Democrats and Brown is a moderate Republican with a great resume.

DE went for Obama by 25 points and MA by 26. O'Donnell is much further to the right than Brown and does not have his background. The Democrats are wounded but begin with a great electoral advantage, and a demographic advantage in DE that they do not have in MA.

Rove knows she is not a candidate who can win statewide in Delaware and that is all he was pointing out.

Sorry, but after 8 years of watching Rove advise W's administration and listening to him for the last 2 years, I have come to the conclusion that Rove doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. We'll see what happens in November.

Please Karl, go home and retire while your dignity is still intact. With support like this, it’s going to be up to the tea partiers to keep beating them over the head.

*************

The GOP machine basically has overnight to decide if they want to remain in existence. If they keep on with the Powell, Rove, Steele, Graham, Murkowski crap, the base will walk away from them.

Reminds me of the David Frizzell country song “I’m going to fire a Rino”.

A RINO in the ranks voting with the Democrats is worse than a Democrat

Am I the only one to notice that they do so, with impunity? No one ever gets a chairmanship pulled or money pulled, not even a reprimand, either officially or just a public comment.

” ... if there is no difference to having Castle instead of a Democrat”

But there is. Castle was/is considerably more moderate than the leftist lunatic that is the Democrat nominee.

“Anyway now it’s critical that the GOP get behind O’Donnell.”

Yes, it is.

When the rubber meets the road you can usually count on Rove to back the Grand Old Political establishment. Hannity actually did good tonight by standing by O’Donnell.

Rove you stupid bastard!

“as far as the voting is concerned, Castle would be just like having a Democrat.”

And that is why Castle is gone! We the people will pick off as many of the RINO/DEMS we can, and the Primary is the place to do it! GO CHRISTINE!

You've never worked a campaign have you? Election night, the candidate is out of breath from talking to everyone, the spirits are flowing and high and in this case, being the under dog and pulling out a win.. I wouldn't expect much more than a few breathless cheers.
