This could confirm what many suspected all along - the corporate heads at General Electric (NYSE:GE) would try to use their media holdings to portray President Barack Obama and his administration in a positive light in order to gain a corporate advantage.
That's how former CNBC reporter and current Fox Business Network senior correspondent Charlie Gasparino explains it in his forthcoming book, "Bought and Paid For: The Unholy Alliance Between Barack Obama and Wall Street."
According to Gasparino, GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt had "helped his company feast off of the subsidies of Obamanomics," including the green energy initiatives and health care reform. And although Immelt is a registered Republican, Gasparino detailed how Immelt would walk around his company's headquarters saying "we're all Democrats" now at the prospect of government checks going to GE. But later, Gasparino explained how Immelt would use his authority to manipulate the editorial coverage of on Obama for that reason:

It’s just business. It was a good bet. Immelt should be rewarded for his risk taking, and the ultimate payoff.
Immelt helped his company, that’s his job, right? Nothing else matters.

That’s ‘Rick’ Santelli on CNBC.
Jeffrey Immelt is by far the worst CEO in the country. GE share prices and earnings have gone nowhere since he took the helm years ago. He has reduced a once great innovative private enterprise company to a a company whose existence depends on the largesse of government subsidized projects.I blame the Board of Directors for not canning this incompetent years ago. The shareholders should vote out the entire board for allowing this clown to hang on.
I began boycotting GE years ago... they are thoroughly corrupt

The GE board of directors could remove Jeff tomorrow if they wanted to. Problem is, they kinda like the boy...

Who’s stock price hasn’t? Bad market, but JI has been positioning his company for rewards.
Companies only exist for one reason, make money. Right?
JI is one problematic CEO. He has never made big money for the company and should be shown the door. Any “dancing with the devil will only burn his...”

Hugh and series. Another article posted to my FB page. I always get slammed for these, and I love it. LOL. But some people who read these types of articles there are waking up. Since they would never visit a conservative website, and never hear these things in their Liberal newspapers or on the Liberal networks, they see them on my FB page. Maybe soon I can sway some to come over to FreeRepublic and see what truths they can find here, too.
I wish I hadn't. GE appliances are nothing but a piece of junk. Especially their refrigerators.
Charlie has always been one of the players in this. He is well known for dropping his “Rumors”, and causing the market to spike upwards during a bad trading day. Then the rumor would often not pan out, but he would be right back a week or so later with the same rumor, and do it again. They call him GasBag on some of the forums.
As for him exposing what was already obvious. I will give him credit for that.
I’m not surprised. Immelt and Obama are fellow Ivy Leaguers.
