The French Senate has voted overwhelmingly for a bill banning the burka-style Islamic veil everywhere from post offices to streets, in a final step toward a making it law.
The Senate voted 246 to 1 Tuesday in favor of the bill, which has already passed in the lower chamber, the National Assembly.

Now let’s hope they stand strong in the face of the upcoming riots as I’m sure there will be in Paris.
Good...It is not a requirement of Islam.
Some may say that this is a violation of freedom. Afterall, what business is it of the government to mandate what people wear.
However, there is a distinct difference.
First, many of these people are NOT natural born French citizens. They are Algierian immigrants who were granted citizenship by virtue of Algeria being a French colony.
Also, I think it is a sign that the French are recognizing that these Moslems truly are the enemy within. So they want to keep a better eye on them.
I think this burka ban is quite appropriate and is NOT a violation of any rights of freedom.

Let them keep their burkas as long as they go back to where all the women wear burkas.

I can see the cars burning, and the hadji’s rioting right now.
They lost around 25% of their male population in WWI,
which led to the pacifist inclination. They were not always as they are today.
