State Republicans moved the three-way U.S. Senate race to a new level Saturday, with party leaders pointing to an audit of their books they say implies Gov. Charlie Crist — now an independent candidate for U.S. Senate — ran up potentially "hundreds of thousands" of dollars in inappropriate charges. These days, anymore, that qualifies Crist for the "politician of the year" award.

The thing is Crist was always a sleazeball. His slime taints Republicans because they initially promoted him to power while looking the other way.
The GOP needs to be much more selective and only promote people with principles, integrity and character. Otherwise Republican politicians just become more of the same.

A couple of days ago, we learned Crist gave Greer $10,000.
Is it an attempt to buy Greer’s silence?

I never connected with Crist (he’s my Governor, although he doesn’t seem to do that job anymore), even when the Heritage Foundation (or the Cato Institute) pumped his early economic record — later he became more liberal and then started hugging Obama and chickening out of tough primaries. The fake bake tan and vague homosexual/metrosexual vibe always turned me off.
