People have a right to go to a Restaurant or not. I appreciate the statements, but that is how it is. As for me, I have learned a great deal more about making meals of my own over the years, I would encourage whomever is able to do so to try the same.
I agree with MO on one thing....most kids menus are terrible, that’s why when my son was little, we would order him a salad or meal off the regular menu. Our child, our choice. Waitresses would always look at him like he had two heads when he was 3 or 4 and would order a salad with ranch dressing.
I don’t want to run a restaurant, I want to be a patron. If I don’t like the food I won’t eat there. Government can’t make restaurant food healthier, just more expensive, with the result that more small businesses will fold. The left attracts meddlers. Resist meddling.
When my hubby and I were first married and before we had kids we ate out a LOT. As we had kids, we ate out less and less and I cooked more. Now, my family and I prefer my own cooking to the point that we are very critical whenever we eat out. I even insisted on cooking for my husband and me for our anniversary this year because the dish I had at a restaurant last year on our day was poorly seasoned and overcooked. Instead, this year I made pan roasted fillet mignon medallions with rosemary, garlic & thyme, creamy mashed potatoes and a parmesan creamed spinach over it. I think Ms. Obama wouldn't have approved the cream and butter used, but I have to say it was delicious.
Absolutely. I make my own meals and some are filled with creamy, dreamy butter and cream. I allow our children to have good things just like we did growing up. I dont’ see the obamas giving up ICE CREAM. We are in charge of our own family and we will continue to provide them with good, honest goodness for their good health, teeth and bones. We take care of our own children and don’t need busy bodies telling us what to eat or do not eat.
More people should cook as you said. You can control the amount of fat and sugar and salt yourself. It’s all about making smart choices which we do not learn from the government...we learned it from our mothers in the kitchen! THEY were the geniuses to be able to make a dinner from nothing. If we are ever in a position to have to scrimp and make do...we’ll be able to do it. Until then...we eat, drink and enjoy God’s bounty.
