Revealed: Obama hired media expert to monitor 'negative' coverage of BP oil spill
Daily Mail UK ^ | September 13, 2010

The U.S. government paid an expert $18,000 to assess whether news stories about the Gulf oil spill were positive or negative for the Obama administration, it was revealed today.

And it awarded a $216,625 no-bid contract for a survey of seabirds to an environmental group that has criticised what it calls the 'extreme anti-conservation record' of Sarah Palin.

The contracts were among hundreds revealed by The Associated Press as the government provided the first glimpse of federal spending since the disaster in April.

this has to be a joke right?.........(from the source posted)::::The White House is still deciding whether it will bill the British oil giant for spill-related trips by Obama and his wife, Michelle, to the Gulf, including the president’s flights aboard Air Force One, which can cost tens of thousands of dollars each.

Judge Napolitano was on Fox Business this morning about this. He said Obama has his own press department paid for already. All he had to do was put one of them on this matter. Basically saying instead of billing BP $18,000.00 for money that was suppose to go to oil cleanup.

Then Alan Colmes says, in theory I get your point. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE 10 billion lost in Iraq. In Alans world I guess intentional theft is the same as unintentional. Plus he got his digs in on Bush.

They also paid $58,000 for a boat trip for “things,” whatever that may mean.

The costs of maintaining the sacred Barry are endless. But the expenditures for monitoring publicity are probably among the most egregious (and, one hopes, illegal, since they are directly for his political purposes).

I continuously find it stunning (or, stuning) that the BP oil spill, which was going to collapse the ocean floor, pollute the land and water of the Gulf coast for decades, cause elevated levels of birth defects, take 3% off our GDP for 5 years, require a nuke to be set off to plug it, raise unemployment by another 4%, create its own weather patterns because of the evaporative blockage, inhibit the gulfstream perhaps as far out as England and damage Europes’ crop yields and cause the extinction of dozens if not hundreds of species is ABSOLUTELY FREAKING GONE from the MSM. It’s gone! It’s like it never happened.

To me, the lesson is the sheer power of the MSM and what they write/print/show vs what they don’t.
